Golden Eagle Quick Hits Big Second Half Alexa Thielman (So., G, Buffalo, Minn./Health Science) had an explosive second half last Saturday against Augustana College. Thielman finished the game with 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including connecting on 6-of-10 three-pointers. Thielman tallied 19 of her points in the second half, including hitting five three-pointers in the second half. Thielman has hit six three-pointers three times this season, each of which has tied the school record for most threes in a single game. Thielman also had six treys versus St. Cloud State University and Bemidji State University. Draining Threes Minnesota Crookston has become known for their ability to drain threes this season, as they are currently second in the NSIC, shooting 39.1 percent from the field. The Golden Eagles have connected on 10 or more threes, as a team, on four occasions this season, last time against St. Cloud State University Dec. 7. UMC is averaging 7.6 treys per game. Thielman leads the team shooting 50.7 percent from the field. Ashley Martell (Jr., G, Somerset, Wis./Health Science) comes in shooting 46.8 percent while Ebony Livingston (Jr., G/F, Minneapolis, Minn./Sports and Rec Management) is shooting 32.4 percent. 2014 In the new year, Minnesota Crookston has started with a 2-2 mark with two crucial home wins against Winona State University and Upper Iowa University. UMC also played top NSIC South teams, Augustana College (S.D.) and Wayne State College (Neb.) tight on the road. The Golden Eagles have shot the ball well, connecting on 44.8 percent of their shots from the field. Minnesota Crookston will look to build off a strong start as they host Northern State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead this weekend. Ebony Picking Things Up Minnesota Crookston junior Ebony Livingston (Jr., G/F, Minneapolis, Minn./Sports and Rec Management) has picked things up, as of late, averaging 10.0 points per game for the Golden Eagles in the last four games. Livingston came into 2014 averaing just 7.8 points per game. She had 16 points in a win over Upper Iowa and 10 versus Winoan State while adding nine points on the road versus Wayne State.
