Golden Eagle Quick Hits Keeping The Streak Alive University of Minnesota Crookston sophomore forward Katrina Moenkedick (So., F, Perham, Minn./Early Childhood Education) has scored in double figures in each of the Golden Eagles’ 18 games this season. Her lowest output of the season came with 10 points against St. Cloud State. Moenkedick is averaging 16.6 points per game this season and is averaging 18.6 points per game in the last nine games for the Golden Eagles. Moenkedick’s season high of 30 points came against Upper Iowa University Jan. 3. The Road Blues The Golden Eagles have played great basketball at Lysaker Gymnasium this season as they currently own a 7-4 mark at home, but Minnesota Crookston has struggled on the road this season. The Golden Eagles seek their first road victory of the season as they head to University of Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State University this weekend. The Golden Eagles are 0-7 in road games so far this year. Hitting The Trey Alexa Thielman (So., G, Buffalo, Minn./Health Science) has been great from three-point range this season. Thielman is shooting 49.5 percent from trey this season. She has five games this season where she has hit five or more threes in a game. Thielman is coming off a five trey performance against Minot State University last weekend. Her six threes against Bemidji State University, St. Cloud State University and Augustana College (S.D.) tied the mark for most threes in a game. Cienna Hitting The Boards Cienna Walker (So., G, Ajax, Ontario/Marketing) has been strong on the glass as of late. In the last three games, Walker is averaging six rebounds per game. In addition, Walker is averaging 7.7 points per game. Thorn In Their Side Christine Thorn (So., G, St. Michael, Minn./Elementary Education) is averaging 8.3 points per game in the last four contests for the Golden Eagles, adding producting to the team’s bench. Coaching Notes Head Coach Mike Roysland will return to the bench this weekend after missing last week’s games against Minot State University and University of Mary for a family matter. Nate Mahlen made his coaching debut for the Golden Eagles, going 0-2 against the Beavers and Marauders
