E-3 Seaman (SN) General Military Knowledge Customs and Courtesies Identify criteria for USN and NSCC awards. Explain the wearing of awards according to precedence. Summarize the conduct and valor of MOH recipients. Describe basic procedures for radio communications. Explain the basic outline of formal email communications. Drill and Ceremony Explain the role of squad leader. Summarize and perform basics of squad drill, such as forming squads. Identify the preparatory and execution commands. Perform the Ready Front command and explain its purpose. Cite safety considerations while performing drill. Seamanship Describe how various types of deck equipment are handled while on board a vessel. Explain the basic water traffic rules while piloting a small vessel.
