Speed Sketching by the Coast 11:00 – 12:30 and 14:00 – 15:30 £5 – plus secure half price entry to the Discovery Centre Pre-booking essential Meet in the Education Centre – collect wristband from the Admissions Desk Learn speed sketching skills and tips from renowned illustrator, the Edinburgh Sketcher. All ages and abilities will have the chance to draw in ink and watercolour, and take away a mounted piece of work, following a sketching tour around the harbour.

For Puffin Fest activities, simply request the tickets for the events you would like to attend on arrival at the Centre. Just head to the Admissions Desk. Photography and Edinburgh Sketcher workshops, and boat trips, must be booked in advance. All tickets subject to availability. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, at all events.

In the morning learn how to get the most from your photographic equipment. The afternoon will be at Aberlady, for a hands-on session and the opportunity for one-to-one advice whilst taking stunning nature shots. There will be a 10% discount for lunch in the Seabird Café. Participants will need their own transport to get to Aberlady although will be encouraged to car share. Wednesday 25 May Walking with Birds 10:30 Free – plus secure half price entry to the Discovery Centre Book in advance by emailing info@seabird.org or calling 01620 890202 Join our Walking with Birds group for a special tour of Hopes Reservoir. Take note of all the bird life you see during your nature walk. Participants are invited to return to the Seabird Centre after the walk, for a special talk about puffins and half price entry to the Discovery Centre. Please meet in the Hopes Reservoir car park, wear sturdy footwear and allow for all kinds of weather. Bring binoculars, if you have them, and a packed lunch.

A Puffin Scoping Walk on the Wild Side 13:00 – 14:00 / 14:30 – 15:30 Included with admission Meet at the Admissions Desk A guided sea-scope walk led by East Lothian Council Ranger Service. Join Ranger, Dave Wild, on the rocky shore to learn more about seabirds and the array of coastal wildlife around us. Following the walk, participants will have the opportunity to use the cameras in the Discovery Centre to try and spot what was seen during the excursion.

About the Centre Puffin treats As well as all the Puffin Fest activities, there will be lots of puffin treats in the Gift Shop, as well as puffin-inspired delights in the Seabird Café. Make sure you pick up your Puffin Passport and go on a tour of North Berwick. There are fantastic prizes up for grabs. Jump on board In addition to the Puffin Express, there are a whole host of other boat trips where you may see puffins, including landing trips to the Isle of May and the chance to see Craigleith on board the Seabird Catamaran Cruise and the Three Islands Seabird Seafari. Book your boat trips in advance wherever possible at www.seabird.org Additional Puffin Express trips may be added to the timetable – please see the website for info. Easy to get to www.travelinescotland.com Visit Traveline for the most up-to-date information on train and bus travel. Train: Regular 30 minute service from Edinburgh.
