Every day At Scotland’s Puffin Fest we celebrate one of the most popular seabirds: the puffin! We want to spread the word about the importance of conserving and protecting our seabirds for future generations. Zoom in on the Puffins 10:00 –18:00 Included with admission Control the interactive live cameras in the Discovery Centre to see puffins in their natural habitat on the islands of Craigleith, Fidra and the Isle of May. Puffin Trail 10:00 –18:00 Included with admission Follow the Discovery Centre trail, answer the questions and win a puffin prize!

Sea Craft 10:00 –18:00 Included with admission Take a seat at the Sea Craft and enjoy puffin puzzles and colouringin.

Rockpool Fish Feed Throughout the day Included with admission Feeding time for the fish! Find out how they fit into the puffin’s food chain.

A Day in the Life of a Puffin 10:00 –18:00 Included with admission A mini exhibition shedding light on a puffin’s daily routine.

Puffin Panorama Throughout the day Included with admission Learn amazing puffin facts from our expert team in the Discovery Centre.

SOS Puffin 10:00 –18:00 Included with admission A mini exhibition featuring a documentary about SOS Puffin made by Maude Rivard-Haustrate.

Puffins on Holiday 10:00 –18:00 Included with admission Where do puffins go? A mini exhibition detailing the fascinating trips taken by puffins, using the tracking data from the colonies of Skomer and the Isle of May.

Opticron Demo 10:00 –16:00 Included with admission Try out the latest binoculars and telescopes with the Opticron team in the Scope Deck. Professor Egghead and the Alien Invasion 14:00 –15:00 Included with admission Find out about the invasive alien plant that clogs puffin burrows!

For Puffin Fest activities, simply request the tickets for the events you would like to attend on arrival at the Centre. Just head to the Admissions Desk. Photography workshops and boat trips must be booked in advance. All tickets subject to availability. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, at all events.

Wildlife Photography Workshop for Beginners 10:00 –17:00 Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult; maximum of 8 participants per session £65 This must be booked in advance at the Admissions Desk in the Seabird Centre or at www.seabird.org Gift vouchers available. In a day-long workshop, awardwinning photographer Tom Langlands will show how to get the most from your photographic equipment. Also practical handson workshop at Gosford Estate. 10% discount for lunch in the Seabird Café. Own transport to get to Aberlady required, car share encouraged. Puffin Express 11:30 –12:00 Adult £10 / child £5 / concession £9 Book at www.seabird.org Jump on board our 30 minute puffin spotting cruise to Craigleith. Tickles the Clown Puffin Puffaganza 12:30 –15:30 Included with admission Did you know puffins are the clowns of the sea? Tickles will be roaming the Centre with magic tricks, balloon modelling and games.

Percy the Puffin’s Homecoming Adventure 13:00 –13:40 Included with admission An interactive puppet show led by The Drama Mill, with music and rhymes. Learn about Percy’s lifecycle, how he meets his mate, digs a burrow and feeds his family. Little ones can also learn about some of the threats facing seabirds. Puffin Scoping Walk on the Wild Side 13:00 / 14:00 / 15:00 Each session lasts 30 minutes Included with admission A guided seascape walk led by East Lothian Council Countryside Ranger Service. Join Ranger, Dave Wild, on the rocky shore to learn more about puffins and the coastal wildlife. Use the Discovery Centre cameras to zoom in on the live puffin action. Meet at the Admissions Desk. Puffin Party with Forth 1 14:00 –16:00 Included with admission Forth 1 presenter, Arlene Stuart, will join Professor Egghead and Tammie the Puffin for two hours of crafts, science, fun and jokes. Also Puffin Tracking with the RSPB. Find out where puffins go when they leave their burrows! Take part in a GPS tracking experiment, learning how, and why, scientists follow seabirds from their island colonies. Life of a Puffin Bookmark Art Workshop 14:00 / 15:00 / 16:00 Included with admission Artist Mandy Thomson shows how to draw an egg, puffling and puffin on a bookmark to take home. In the Scope Deck.

Speed Sketching with the Edinburgh Sketcher 14:30 –16:00 Age 12+ (under 16s to be accompanied by an adult) Included with admission Capture the world around you in ink and watercolour with speedy sketching skills from the well-known Edinburgh Sketcher. Learn how to describe a scene in a few lines, create a piece of art and be inspired to do so again. In the Scope Deck and Education Centre. About the Centre Puffin treats As well as all the Puffin Fest activities, there will be lots of puffin treats in the Gift Shop, as well as puffin-inspired delights in the Seabird Café. Make sure you pick up your Puffin Passport and go on a tour of North Berwick. There are fantastic prizes up for grabs. Jump on board In addition to the Puffin Express, there are a whole host of other Seabird boat trips where you can see puffins, including landing trips to the Isle of May, the Seabird Catamaran Cruise and the Three Islands Seabird Seafari. Book your boat trips in advance at www.seabird.org. Additional Puffin Express trips may be put on. Please visit the website for updates. Easy to get to www.travelinescotland.com Visit Traveline for the most up-to-date information on train and bus travel. Train: Regular 30 minute service from Edinburgh. Use your train ticket for a 20% discount on admission to the Discovery Centre on the day of your travel. Bike: Racks available. Car: Signposted from the A1, north and south.
