TIPS FOR PUPS (AND THEIR PEOPLE) THIS HOLIDAY WEEK

Here are some dog-gone good tips from owner and operator of The Salty Dog, Ann Kjelsberg, on reducing the stress on our pups during this holiday week. Though fireworks are not allowed at Seabrook, the noise from the beach and surrounding areas can be extremely loud. Here are some tips to keep your dogs safe:

• Make sure your dog is wearing a collar with an ID tag.

• Take your dog out for exercise early in the day. Avoid the beach later in the afternoon and evening.

• Keep your windows and doors closed and turn on the TV or music.

• Have a current, clear photo of your dog to share in case they go missing.

• Provide a comfortable, safe place for your dogs to retreat with their favorite blankets, toys, and water. Offer enrichment toys like peanut-butter-filled Kongs to ease anxiety.

• Call Seabrook Safety immediately to report a found or lost dog at (360) 276-0265.
