PERSE ID ME T EOR S AT SEA B R O O K 12, 13 A ugu st

The Perseid Meteor Showers happen annually between July 17 and August 24. They are known to be the most active and brightest meteor showers of the year. This year, the Perseid Meteor Showers peak on Thursday August 12 and Friday August 13 (ooooh)! timeanddate.com/astronomy/ says meteor showers happen “when a number of meteors – or shooting stars – flash across the night sky, seemingly from the same point.” This great site continues: “Many times a year, hundreds of celestial fireballs light up the night skies. They may be called shooting stars, but they don’t really have anything to do with stars. These small space particles are meteoroids, and they are literally celestial debris.” Settle into your home, grab a snack and a beverage, and find your spot to view up to 100 spectacular ‘meteors’ per hour. 1
