Contemporary Illustrators & Printmakers (SCIP), in association with Seaford Town Council, will be bringing starlight to the streets of Seaford town in a beautiful exhibition of stars, each designed and created by some of the best local illustrators and artists. These incredible one- off star creations will be exhibited in shop windows throughout Seaford town.

SCIP are delighted to have been able to curate an event during these difficult times, and the added complications of making an exhibition COVID-proof has been difficult. This is why it was decided the exhibition would be in windows and we would create a trail which the community would always be able to enjoy regardless of COVID restrictions.

‘We are so pleased that we are able to work with independent shops in our town on the Star Gazing trail, we love exhibiting in unique locations. Now more than ever we need to support our local stores to ensure we keep the heart of our town alive, and we hope that the community will be able to head out to see the incredible artworks which have been created for the trail and be able to pop in and do some Christmas shopping at the same time!’ says Alice Carter, SCIP co-founder.

SCIP are well known for creating unique arts events for the local community and work with some of the country’s best known illustrators. The Seaford Star winning artists such as Graham Carter, Jane Robbins, Sally Elford, Onneke and Patrick Edgeley. A map of the Star Gazing trail will be available on www.wearescip. co.uk and the Seaford Town Council website.

Alongside the trail SCIP are providing #MySCIPart online tutorials on how to create your own stars at home to display this winter, and running a competition for their favourite star designs with prints and books Gazing trail will include original star designs by award-

This event is being held in association with Seaford Town Council and with support from The Chalkcliff Trust, and will be running based on current COVID-19 regulations as of 2nd November 2020.

The Star Gazing trail stars will be heading into an online auction after the exhibition and the profits will be used to enable SCIP to provide free children’s art workshops once the COVID threat has passed. It is our group’s strong belief that every child and family should have access to arts experiences, regardless of income so will always provide these for free.
