Morrisons Seaford Celebrate Jubilee
by Fran Tegg
Morrisons awarded their HOPE awards during their jubilee celebrations on Thursday 2nd June.
The Hero award went to Pinky McLean-Knight for her fabulous running of the Nebula group, the Organisation award went to Havens Community Hub for their dedication to finding new ways to assist the community, the People’s Choice went to Miranda Bearns Lowles for her dedication to running Seaford Town Market, and the Eco Warrior went to Gemma Mcfarlane for the commitment to the repair café. Community Champions, Mollie Eager and Sophie Carpenter, held a mini fête outside the Dane Road store. The event included a Great British Raffle and a free play un-lucky dip, as well as giveaways and samples. With performances from Richard on the bagpipes and Seaford Primary Choir. Deputy Mayor Liz Boorman attended for the morning. All funds raised from the event will go to Morrisons’ charity partner, Together for Short Lives, everything raised through the Seaford store will go directly to Demelza.
