Inner Wheel Club of Seaford

We’re pleased to be back serving Seaford with town service 120. Although initially running a reduced number of days, we’ll increase this as soon as we can. Please check the timetables. Owing to government regulations, we can only carry a limited number of passengers on each journey. Please bear with us – the services are generally every 30 minutes. We are grateful to the Town Council for their ongoing support.

Cake and Charity!

For many of us the past months since COVID-19 arrived the time has flown by. For some the opposite. At least being a member of a club the more able members have been able to connect with those less fortunate and given support to help carry on though the difficulties. Thank heavens for the telephone and Skype.

With the easing of lockdown we have enjoyed a number of small tea parties (photo below),

hosted by our joint Presidents. This enabled some members to see each other for the first time since March. New skills had to be learned so that we could hold group meetings on Zoom (photo top) – another new word to remember – but we completed two monthly meetings and our AGM successfully.

As a result plans have been made for ways to raise money to enable us to assist needy causes. We hope to run a stall at the Rotary Boot Fair (weather permitting) and arrange coffee mornings for small groups of members, both to raise money but also to keep in touch with one another (that’s where the cake comes in!).

So many of our normal gatherings have been cancelled. District and National rallies have fallen by the way. It is through these meetings that we get to mix with members from all over the country and share ideas, and come away having made new friends and ideas to support our fundraising endeavors locally. Lets hope that soon we can get back to a state of normality.
