CHAPTER 1 Client #ArtistsForArroceros (in collaboration with Jomer Haban) Project Type Visual Branding & Identity, Layout, Collage, Motion Graphics, Market Research Sources instagram.com/artistsforarroceros facebook.com/artistsforarroceros
#ArtistsForArroceros An organization founded with Manila’s “Last Lung” in mind, #ArtistForArroceros is an artistic and societal collaboration with my creative colleague Jomer Haban. The project started as a pitch for our Social Design class, which we then decided to pursue with the objective
3
of aiding the Arroceros Forest Park, the only urban forest-green space in Manila, from dilapidation. This is a chronicling of the founders’ process in developing the DNA of an environmental brand, and supplementary materials for
it. Then, seeing it into fruition with a more ethical visual branding and identity as evidenced by motifs inspired from risograph printing and waste-free print techniques for the proposed marketing collaterals.

CHAPTER 2 Client Department of Tourism for Dumaguete (Academic) Project Type Visual Branding & Identity Development, Layout, Digital Illustration, Print Design, Copywriting
DumaGuetaway! DumaguetAway is the answer to Dumaguete's tourism market-expansion. Fresh and full of wanderlust as inspired by the paraphernalia of travelling: from passports, luggage tags and stickers, vintage tourism posters to transit stamps— Dumaguet-Away aims to
6
charm a younger generation of sightseers into the allure of the Negros Oriental's picturesque capital. With the infusion of familiar globetrotting elements to contemporary graphic design and visual arts, DumaguetAway is surely the
campaign that will captivate the hearts of youth-travellers both foreign and local, thus improving the performance of the tourism sector in Dumaguete.

CHAPTER 3 Client Hong Kong Fried Noodles (Academic) Project Type Visual Branding & Identity Development, Layout, Collage, Print Design, Packaging, Copywriting
Mian Diningsty Miàn Diningsty is the land of sizzling woks of the chǎo-done crispy wheat noodles and juicy jiaozi toppings served to the brim in a convenient bowl of Ming-like paperware that would remind you of a nostalgic oriental past and the hip culture of Hong Kong.
10
For our Color Theory class, we were tasked to rebrand an existing business (Hong Kong Fried Noodles). I developed an identity that intends to expand the brand from its current market reach of upper age demographic—giving it a "fresher" approach with
references to the superabundant culture of the Ming Dynasty, all infused with pop oriental elements as seen in the final rendering of general materials. The creative direction taken reflects the well-researched rationale for the rebranding.

CHAPTER 4 Project Academic Project Type Digital Film, Video Editing, Motion Graphics, Print Design (Prop Making)
Ma. Colette Inside the Parisian daydreams of a little girl, Maria Colette. A short film I wrote, directed, shot and post-processed with my muse Chanel Ng, for my Fundamentals in Film and Video Production class. Producing this short was a delight—soft pastels and
14
nostalgia dominate each scene with gratitude to the charming setting of Intramuros, Manila. The video is aimed at openly conversing the Filipino-dream, familial values and appreciation of cultures.

CHAPTER 5 Project Si Pagapayo at Ang Hiwaga ng Bulkang Taal Project Type 2D Animation
Si Pagapayo at Ang Hiwaga ng Bulkang Taal The final output for my 2D Animation class—a narrative inspired by the stories of the book “The Mysteries of Taal” by Thomas Hargrove, which I chanced upon while reading the latest news on the Taal
16
volcano's activities (at the time of the development of this project). We were given full creative license to breathe life into whatever plot we want, and I considered forging a myth on
what was once a body of saltwater that is the Taal Lake, and the potential creatures that swam in it before the eruption of the volcano in 1911 (that caused its conversion to freshwater).

CHAPTER 6 Client Personal Project Type Collage, Graphic Design, Layout, Print Design, Motion Graphics
Impolitics & Misgovernance A personal multimedia series articulating my stance on a bevy of social issues that are seemingly perpetual. Posted on my social media handles, these pieces serve as a call to action intended to reach my audience.
17
The topics discussed range from media censorship, red tagging, anti-poor movement, patriarchy, sexism, and other prejudices widespread in the Philippines.

CHAPTER 7 Client SIGWA (Academic) Project Type Layout, Print Design, Content Writing, Copywriting, Collage, Film Photography
SIGWA Filipino for thunder—SIGWA signifies the striking youth; also a synonym for silakbo or an outburst of feelings. As a final course requirement for Typography class, we were tasked to create a publication that applied the summation of the lessons
25
throughout the term. I conceptualized a teen magazine, SIGWA which pays homage to Filipino youth culture, translated into visual language using current design trends. Utilizing my knowledge on print and brand design, I made use of acetates and a
variation of substrate to resonate the Filipino's being campy—completed with a bag-packaging adorned with custom brand stickers. With colors in full spectrum, the magazine reflected the distinction of the Filipino character and the flamboyance of our fiestas.

Kasayscion There are many myths that filled the dictatorial era of Ferdinand Marcos, one was that the Philippine economy reached its peak then with the exchange rate ratio of the American dollar to Philippine peso of 1:2. This misjudgement in the books also addresses Marcos’
28
opulent administration. Opulent as his wife may be, or imeldific should I say, his ruling the country was beyond poor and here’s a hoax about it! To give light to this topic, I tackled the issue in a non fiction video requirement I
self-produced for my Fundamentals in Film and Video Production class.

CHAPTER 9 Client Academic Project Type Editorial Photography, Food & Product Photography, Fashion Styling, Set Styling
Photography & Styling A collection of editorials I art directed, styled, shot, and post-processed, produced for my Basic and Studio Photography courses. Majority of my photography work is influenced by my frequent reading of household names in the
30
local and international publication industry: Vogue, L’Officiel, i-D, Dazed, Esquire, Scout. Selected images and compositions are also homages to my creative heroes married with my personal flavors.

Digital Illustration Digital painting-studies borrowing the sentimental styles of yesteryear's momentous artists, namely: Jean Cocteau, Cecil Beaton, Ludwig Bemelmans and Raoul Dufy. Each piece is maximized into different layout applications
35
such as book covers, pillow cases, etc. The last project is an assignment from when I volunteered as an artist-designer with sister NGOs Bye Bye Plastic Bags PH, Kids4Kids, and TAYO.

CHAPTER 11 Client Le Petit Cherie (Academic) Project Type Visual Branding and Identity Development, Typography, Layout, Print Design, Packaging Design, Collage
Le Petit Cherie Le Petit Cherie is a brand identity that enlivens a custom typeface I hand-drawn for my Typography class: “Oh Oh Cherie.” The creative brief was to create a typeface that can be used for a fictitious label in
37
the executions of an envelope, a letterhead, and a business card. I crafted a French 19th century fashion line for little girls, hence the nomenclature of Le Petit Cherie (translation: “The Little Darlings”). Witnessed in the overall brand aesthetic are the inspirations from the
textures of decorative decoupage, textiles of pastel gowns worn by the European upper echelons and over the top rarities of quirky embellishments and playful froufrous.

CHAPTER 12 Client Havaianas (Academic) Project Type Market Research, Copywriting, Graphic Design, Digital Photography, Film Photography, Set Design, Fashion Styling, Collage, Digital Illustration, Layout, Motion Graphics
Havaianas: Welcome the Neo _ The Havaianas Ad Trope is summarized as a witness to the traditional sexist culture of the brand’s existing advertisements. Welcome the Neo* aims to address the acceptance of the Havaianas brand into a more inclusive culture; as a
42
progressive brand in a progressive market. In response to the new normal. A paradigm shift that challenges what is existing as with the empowered woman who continues the plight for equality.
Leveraging from the South Korean pop culture of purposeful beauty, fashion, and ultimately the power of the female as projected in K-dramas and idols. *Neo - unorthodox term; also a slight reference to rapidly growing K-pop boy group Neo Culture Technology or NCT.

CHAPTER 14 Client Laduree ( Academic) Project Type 3D Modeling, 3D Animation, Video Editing
Laduree: A Golden Adventure There are no words to express how fond I am of French macarons, and how I adored Laduree as a brand ever since I visited their shop in Champs-Élysées in Paris. Laduree is a patisserie known for its clean and pastel pastry-offerings.
50
The objective of this project is to pay homage to the whimsical theme of the brand by creating a narrative that spotlights their bestseller, the French macarons.

Tsinoyserie With a deep affinity for 19th Century European artforms and decor, I explore in a series of applicative ornamental design the infusion of local design motifs with its European counterparts. From the Parisian toile du jour wallpaper to chinoiserie
53
patterns, “Tsinoyserie” (a playful portmanteau to Tsinoy as in Filipino-Chinese and Chinoiserie) translates tropical themes from the Philippine archipelago and surrealism, into Baroque layouts reflecting a utopic idea of the Renaissance.

Sean Eidder is many things peculiar… He likes to see everything in vivid technicolor. And as a fanatic of print (long live!) and obsolete crafts, Sean Eidder tries to emulate the analog techniques of yesteryears to produce inimitable effects that would always leave a lasting feeling of nostalgia and childhood wonders in his work. Although a follower of the kidcore, he does not kid around his work. Sean Eidder is very very serious about his craft—the photo on the left is living proof. Maybe that’s why at age 15 his work was first published in the national newspaper. Simultaneously, he bagged third place at the regional division of a junior marketing entry strategy composition contest. At 16 he was a regular contributor to local and international publications alike. He even made it to the social media pages of a supermall. By the time he was 17, he earned a spot in the list of "New Visual Artists: 15 Under 30" at an established graphic design magazine in the United States.
It goes on...
