A primer on the historical context of the formation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations—MagASEAN (a portmanteau of the medium used, magazine and ASEAN) is a visual translation of the timeline of the organization. Cross referencing from the initial lecture and other primary sources on the subject, I mirrored into the language of graphic design accompanied with short introductions, what I identified as the crucial period of the ASEAN's shaping. Each point in the timeline had a significance to the birth of the ASEAN either directly or in principle : 1) Precolonial Southeast Asia, 2) Colonial Southeast Asia, 3) Cold War and the Neutral Region, 4) Internal Conflict in Southeast Asia, 5) Diplomatic Endeavors of Southeast Asia and finally, 6) The Formation of ASEAN.
