Swords Boy Is An Inspiration Daniel Fitzpatrick is a truly remarkable teenager from Swords, who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things related to superheroes and other comic strip characters. However, what makes Daniel’s fascination with mutants and the like is that he has Aspergers Syndrome, a lifelong condition that often increases intelligence and decreases social skills.
By Patrick Finnegan Daniel (15) who lives in Cherry Avenue in Swords is a true inspiration to all people who suffer from Aspergers Syndrome. He doesn’t let his condition stand in the way and his knowledge, charm and wit are a pleasure to behold. He told the County Leader about how his fascination began. “From a young age, I’ve always been aware of superheroes. I’ve had various Batman and Spiderman toys and merchandise and the first movie I can remember seeing at the cinema was Spiderman 3. I was very young and I loved it at the time.” His bedroom is a treasure trove of memorabilia dating back to 1955 and features practically all of the superheroes and villains from the comic strip genre. Comic Book Casts is a very successful Comic
Book You Tube channel, run by three people, which is based in America. They have approximately 120,000 subscribers. Daniel sent them a blog and, such was the impressive contribution of his blog that they were compelled to read it out on air. This was a great tribute to Daniel and one that he is very proud of. Daniel is an inspiration to other sufferers of Aspergers Syndrome and he doesn’t let his condition hold him back. “If you have an interest, do it,” he said. “My opinion has changed since and I think Spiderman is the weakest of the trilogy. But that’s not relevant here. My point is that that’s how it started. That was the seed. I read the spectacular Spiderman comic series for a while,” he said. “As I aged, it was no more than a casual interest. It grew slowly but it wasn’t a thing I’d think about every day. However in recent weeks, I’ve really started paying attention to the superhero scene. I’ve seen most of the movies and know a lot of the characters and comic story arcs. It’s mainly the mainstream ones at the moment, but I hope to expand more. I’m not going to pretend I know every single character. But I’m a fan and in my opinion, that’s all that
counts. I’ve got posters in my room and words cannot describe how much I love these characters. I love all of the ones that I know, but if I had to pick favourites it would be Captain America, Batman, the X-men and Spider-man. “I love Captain America because of his good nature. He has a pure heart and never hesitates to help. He is the ultimate idol. Batman is unique and he continues to fight, despite everything he goes through. His parents are always in his mind. He will never stop until his death. He never kills and he wants his city to be pure, even when it is entrenched in filth.” “I share parallels with the x-men. I’m not saying I’m a mutant with extraordinary powers, but what I mean is that I’m different. My Aspergers and their mutations set us aside from the rest. We just want to fit in and live in a society where we are all equals. I believe that there is nothing wrong with

Masterplan Needed For Portrane Hospital Project Local community representatives in Portrane, together with councillors Adrian Henchy, Paul Mulville, Joe Newman and Brendan Ryan TD, recently met with senior HSE officials to discuss the building of the new National Forensic Mental Health Hospital at St. Ita’s campus in Portrane. Henchy said, “The HSE representatives informed us of the project details, and they will shortly commence phase one, which is the clearing of the site. In April 2016, they plan to start on the build of the new National Hospital and by October 2017, they hope the development is fully built. “The HSE hopes the handover will be
complete by March 2018 and that the new hospital will be ready to start operating. We learned at the meeting that certain conditions may not be met prior to Phase One of this development and the community representatives were very disappointed to hear this. There was a huge amount of work and submissions made by the local community across all sectors to the An Bord Pleanala process.” He continued, “However there is an overall need for a masterplan and a vision for the whole St. Ita’s site, and for the community to be fully engaged and involved in this process. The residents of
Portrane Avenue must be better engaged with by the HSE and the empty houses on the avenue must be addressed and brought back into use. I very much welcome the long term creation of over 550 jobs when the new hospital opens and there will be many new opportunities for various specialists and grades when the facility opens.” He continued “I am now calling on the HSE as a matter of urgency to establish a Community Liaison Officer to improve the lines of communication and fully engage with the local community. With openness and transparency from all sides, I am hopeful that potential difficulties can be overcome and the local Authority and the HSE will work closely with the local Community to address these difficulties as soon as possible, he concluded.

Commission Proposals Rejected

The environment does not seem to be doing too well this past week in the EU. Car manufactures breathed a little easier as member states voted to weaken the new testing regulations on the techniques used to measure emissions. Reports say that the only country to oppose the move was the Netherlands. C o m p r o m i s e proposals tabled by the Commission, which allowed each country to decide on the importation of genetically modified organisms for use in animal food mixes. So the Commission will have to come up with some new proposals. The Greek Government are still in trouble trying to

get the next tranche of bail out funds released. It seems unlikely that the € 2bn due will be paid until next week. The Government could do without these hold ups as they struggle in keeping the country afloat. Meanwhile, in Germany the leader of the CSU which is the Bavarian sister party of Merkel’s Christian Democrats, has told the
Chancellor to limit the number of asylum seekers. The CDU continues to fall in the polls and are now down at 36 per cent for the first time in over three years. Merkel’s own popularity rating stands at 46 per cent. While these types of figures are the dream of any of the party leaders here in Ireland they are really bad news for the CDU. We made the point
03.11.2015 here some weeks ago that Merkel is in a dangerous place, as disgruntlement grows with her generous handling of the migrant problem. I wrote last week that the Communists see her action of opening the borders as a means to getting cheap labour into the German work force. It seems that some German people do not see it in the same light. Merkel’s saving may be that there’s currently no obvious successor to her. But then, many did not see John Major come for Margaret Thatcher.

The Well Bar & Grill at the Lord Mayors pub has just celebrated three years of successful trading in Swords. At the end of October 2012, the Lord Mayors was transformed with the opening of the immensely atmospheric ‘The Well Café Bar and Grill serving food and drink of the highest quality. In such a short time, The Well has become one of the most readily identifiable and popular eating and drinking establishments in Swords. It has succeeded in creating the transformation between day and night and it’s proving to be a very popular night time venue, where you can come and enjoy excellent food and drink in a lively atmosphere. The County Leader met up with manager, Joe Savage who spoke about the success enjoyed in the past three years. “The last three years has been a great success and we are following that up with the release of a new menu in the next few weeks, as well as a new cocktail list, so its been very interesting to say the least,” he said. In the past two years, it has become the first place in Swords that the Dubs bring the Sam Maguire Cup, much to the delight of their countless local fans. The Well provides a very varied and interesting menu for its customers, with quality and value for money to the forefront, “The beauty about being a Cafe Bar and Grill is that there are no limits to what we can cook here. We can have an influence of Asian, Italian, contemporary or diner style food, meaning that we can encompass anything within the one menu, which is great and is very exciting for the kitchen staff too,” he said. On congratulating Joe on his success at The Well, Tony Lambert, CEO of Fingal Dublin Chamber said, “The Well in the Lord Mayors has created a wonderful atmosphere since it was launched three years ago. It is a great place to eat with excellently cooked fresh food and provides a welcoming venue for meeting friends for a drink in the evening. It greatly enhances Swords’ reputation as the place to go for enjoyment and fun.”

BUDGET 2016 What It Means To The North County Budget 2016 has provoked much comment across the North County. Many commentators believe that it is a give-away budget, with the Government keeping a keen eye on the upcoming General Election in the Spring. Some believe that it will give the local economy a much needed shot in the arm. Others take the opposite opinion and say that it is a wasted opportunity to provide real relief for cash strapped citizens. With such diverse feelings on the Budget, with opinion divided down the middle, the County Leader invited local public representatives to discuss the merits or demerits of the Budget. Here’s what they had to say.
Fine Gael
Dr. James Reilly TD Budget 2016 is prudent. It increases expenditure by €1.5bn between tax cuts and increased spending. The Government is determined that the economic recovery, which is well underway but still fragile, should continue. The best way to achieve this is to make work pay. Therefore cuts in Fianna Fáil’s Universal Social Charge (USC) are crucial. We have raised the threshold for entry into the tax to €13,000 which means that over 700,000 people at work no longer have to pay it at all. By reducing the rates at different bands; the 7.5 per cent rate drops to 5 per cent, the 3.5 per cent rate drops to 3 per cent and the 1.5 per cent drops to just 1 per cent, workers will take home more money in their pay packets. Other barriers to work must be addressed; one of which is the cost of Childcare. I have secured an increase of a third (€85m) in the annual investment in the area with a rise from €260m this year to €345m next year. We are investing in an extension of preschool. From September of 2016, children over the age of 3 will be able to enter pre-school and stay till they go to primary school – an average of 23 weeks extra. To increase flexibility, there will be three entry points; September, January and April. During the next year we will increase the places on the Community Childcare
S u b v e n t i o n programme. Our objective in that regard is to design an entirely new system for affordable, accessible, high quality childcare for those who need it. So as more money becomes available the threshold for eligibility will increase. I am also pleased to have secured €15m for a programme to help special needs children in pre-school years. The earlier the intervention the better the outcome for the child. It is very important that we maintain the ‘virtuous circle’ of more jobs, meaning less people on social protection and more people paying some tax which gives us more money to invest in important services like childcare, health, education, housing and policing while at the same time putting more money back into workers’ pockets by reducing income tax. Work then becomes more attractive, more jobs are created and the circle grows. We want this recovery to be fair and to be felt in every household in Fingal and around the country.
ULA
Clare Daly TD Budget 2016 is the Government offering crumbs in return for votes. The pitiful increase in spending announced by Minister Noonan in this year’s budget unfortunately, will not come close to addressing the social crisis created by years of austerity. The increase of €750 million amounts to only 4 per cent of the €21bn cut from public spending since 2008, it represents little more than an election stunt. The government gave back some of the entitlements that they stole from the people in the cynical hope that they will vote for them again. The top 20 per cent in this state now own 73 per cent of the wealth. The top 300 individuals personal wealth increased by ¤13.5 billion last year, and not a single measure was put in place to tap into those resources in fact these wealthy people got wealthier as a result of budget 2016. Meanwhile Capital investment is only at half the level
of pre austerity spending. The announcement of a €57 million investment in housing is only one third of what was invested in 2007 and worryingly the low spending is set to continue up to 2019. While I welcome any reversal in cuts it has to be acknowledged that the vast majority of austerity measures remain in place. This budget should have been an opportunity to address some of the structural damage imposed on our communities but the government instead continue a policy of tax breaks for the already wealthy and the gap between them and the rest of us continues to grow.
03.11.2015
Labour
Brendan Ryan TD The Budget announced two weeks ago is the first Budget in many years in which people in Fingal will begin to see some tangible benefit in the their incomes and indeed in some services. The provision of an extra early childhood care year for children aged 3 to 5 will be a great benefit to hard pressed parents struggling to provide childcare. Childcare is a key issue in Fingal and one that consistently comes up on the doors. The extension of the free GP Care scheme to children aged up to 11 is also very welcome. I have received such a positive response from parents to the initial rollout of the scheme and I am glad that Labour is delivering a further rollout, which will benefit the vast majority of pupils of primary school going age. The measures in relation to the Universal Social Charge will benefit low and middle income earners and further assist families in making ends meet. I am
pleased that The full restoration of Child Benefit and the Respite Care Grant to pre-crisis levels is a further indication of our recovery and the ever improving health of our economy. This is a real recovery Budget. It is not a give-away Budget and it is not a Budget which will solve every problem facing the people of Fingal. It is a prudent and responsible Budget which places low and middle income people and families at its centre. The recovery is still delicate and there are many who still need to feel this recovery, but I am confident we are on the right track and can look forward with some optimism.
Fianna Fáil
Sen. Darragh O’Brien Budget 2016 as ‘a give-away gimmick’ which offers nothing for working families. For a Government that is supposed to be prudent, it is bizarre that they borrowed to make this a give-away budget. You have to worry what their priorities are Working families continue to be squeezed. The free childcare places policy is a farce, there are still hundreds of people on trolleys in hospital emergency departments in Dublin and throughout the country and the whole issue of mortgage repossessions and homelessness was not addressed in the Budget. This Government has also failed to protect pensioners or to provide security in old age. The €3.00 increase to the State Pension falls well short of what was needed to offset the raft of punitive measures brought in by this Government. These include increasing the prescription charge from €0.50 to €2.50, the significant reduction in the income threshold for the over 70s medical card, the attrition of the Household Benefits Package including abolishing the telephone Allowance, the reduction in the Fuel Allowance from 32 weeks to 26 weeks and also the abolishment of the €850
Bereavement Grant. Furthermore the €3 increase is not applicable to those in receipt of the widow’s/ widower’s pension (under age 66) or those in receipt of the invalidity pension. The Minister for Finance was blowing his trumpet about the €595m of cuts to the Universal Social Charge he announced on Budget day, but we have not heard a word from him in relation to the impact of the failure to increase tax bands and credits in line with inflation. In total the government is expecting to take in a record €19bn in income tax in 2016, €800m more than this year. Taxpayers will pay more tax, as the income tax bands are not being adjusted to take account of expected inflation. The various personal and PAYE tax credits should also have been increased to mitigate the impact of inflation.
Fine Gael
Alan Farrell TD Budget 2016 is the first true opportunity for this Government to give back to the Irish people who have made hard sacrifices on the road to building a sustainable economic and societal recovery. Changes to USC announced as part of the budget will mean, on average, an extra week’s wages for low and middle income earners, once the new rates are introduced in January. People who go out to work will bring more of their money home with them and they will be in a position to spend their cash in local shops and businesses. The Fine Gael tax calculator allows people to see exactly how much extra cash they will have as a result of Budget 2016. Budget 2016 also announced changes to Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) or the inheritance tax, as many of us call it. Inheriting land, the family home or other assets, from a family member should provide people a helping hand and not be a burden. Budget 2016 will widen the band, for children inheriting the family home or farm, on the amount that can be inherited before tax must be paid, from €225,000 to €280,000. This year as part of Fine Gael’s Standing Up for Small Business campaign, we asked the self-employed what assistance they needed and they called for changes to tax. It is therefore very good news that Budget 2016 will begin the process of tax equalisation through the introduction of an Earned Income Tax Credit of €550 per year for the self-employed. These people make a huge contribution to the local economy. Families are being supported in this budget not only
by lowering USC, but also by providing a €5 increase in child benefit. The free preschool year has been extended to children aged 3 to 5 from next September and free GP care will also be provided to all children under 12. I know families are under pressure due to all the costs that they have to meet and I feel that these measures make a small but significant difference. Investment in An Garda Siochana in terms of personnel, vehicles and technology is also a high priority for this Government. 550 new Gardaí are already on the beat with 600 to be recruited in 2016. 370 new Garda cars are on our streets with a further 260 to be delivered before Christmas. Legislative measures are being introduced to tackle burglary and longer sentences for prolific criminals. Budget 2016 increases the funding allocations for social housing to €414 million and invests a further €17 million in emergency accommodation for those who are homeless. This is on top of the €3.8 billion social housing plan to deliver 35,000 houses over four years. The measures introduced in Budget 2016 are sensible and affordable steps. They will keep the recovery going and make it possible to continue to improve services into the future.

Irish Army Present Proclamation & Irish Flag to Local Schools
Sergeant Major Jim Aherne and Corporal Shane Kavanagh are pictured with pupils from St Mary's National School, Garristown, when they presented the National Flag and a copy of the Proclamation to the students
Oral historian, Maurice O'Keeffe is pictured interviewing Cathal Boland, a member of the Fingal Old IRA Commemorative Society outside the GPO. Also pictured are other members of the society, Pat Kenny, Noel McAllister, Kevin Tolan, Brian Lally, Tommy Clarke and Graham Blessing (partially hidden).
Captured Memories Of 1916 Oral historian, Maurice O’Keeffe presented a talk “Understanding the Value of Oral History” in the RDS last week. Over the past year and half, he has become a well-known visitor to the homes of relatives of those who had engagement in the events of 1916.
By Cathal Boland Pictured are Sergeant Joe Meade and Corporal Alan Gough, with pupils of Old Boro NS Swords, Scott Heron and his brother, Dylan Heron. Also pictured are Scott and Dylan's grandfather, Jimmy Heron and their grand uncle Liam Heron, whose father fought in 1916

He welcomed the large numbers from Fingal who were present on the night, including the re-enactor volunteer members of the Fingal Old IRA Commemorative Society. The society volunteers had worked with Maurice in a pre-release publicity shoot at the GPO. Also present was former Minister, Jimmy Deenihan, who was instrumental in supporting this now nationwide project. He said that when he was first asked back in 2012 for support, he recognised that if the state did nothing else to mark the centenary, this was a must do project. Indeed some who have shared their memories and recollections with O’Keeffe have since died. In this changing world when tales are not so commonly passed from generation to generation by telling and re-telling projects such as this, capture these family memories for us all to share. An interesting aspect of the project is that families from all sides participated with O’Keeffe. This resulted in the two sides of the same event getting aired, reflecting how each participant saw the moment. How each relayed their experience to their families and in turn how the family members now pass the recollection to recorded history.
The audience were engaged to hear a number of recordings of relatives of the active participants of the Fingal Brigade. They spoke with humility and yet great pride of their fathers and uncles, some who gave their lives, others who suffered real hardship as a result of their service during Easter week. O’Keeffe’s daughter, Hélène whose holds a PhD in Modern Irish History has published a book capturing some of the material captured by her father. Unfortunately none of the more recent work undertaken by him made it into this first book. He gave assurances that there is a second book which will tell the stories he collected about the 5th Battalion Fingal Brigade. This will publish during 2016. When it does, it will repay the support shown to O’Keeffe by the relatives, the local authority and the members of the Fingal Old IRA Commemorative Society.

Launch Of Council’s 2016 Centenary Programme A programme of special events, including those planned for the North County, as part of Ireland 2016 was launched recently, as core initiative of Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme. An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, was joined by An Tánaiste, Joan Burton , the Minister for the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys and the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Alan Kelly for the launch of 31 local and community plans. These include over 1,800 events and initiatives across the country to mark the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising. The Fingal Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme is the outcome of consultations with interested local groups, organisations and individuals, who were invited to participate in the planning and implementation of the local programme. People of all ages and backgrounds expressed a wish to rekindle the
idealism that in 1916 found expression in the desire to be free, to be the authors and carriers of our cultural heritage and to be equal among ourselves and among the nations – in short to create a country worthy of the name Republic. Some of the events planned for the North County include, the Seamus Ennis Centre presenting a special programme of events, including the 1916 Song Project, themed film showings as part of the Centre’s monthly film club and An Céilí Mhór. The school community of Balbriggan Community College joined together recently to welcome another group from St. Wendel, Saarland in Germany on their annual Exchange visit. Ten German students aged 15 and 16, hosted by local families, expressed delight with the t r e m e n d o u s hospitality they received during their five day stay. The Exchange Programme, the brain child of Balbriggan Town Council and stemming from its successful partnership arrangement with St. Wendel, began in 2009 and receives support from the County Council. It is considered a very important event in B a l b r i g g a n Community College’s school calendar. Over the years friendships, which began through the Exchange have developed, with students travelling back and forth between Ireland and Germany. The families of the visitors have also been to visit the area ensuring Balbriggan is firmly on the tourist map. The group paid a visit to Ardgillan Demesne and the guided tour of the castle was impressive, particularly as one was encouraged to touch the displays and imagine how life was for the Taylor family. Students enjoyed exploring the demesne before walking back to Balbriggan. During their stay, the German teachers

among those species that need to sleep through winter, it is time to prepare your home and garden for the cold season. Remember that gardening does not end when summer ends, your garden just requires a different kind of treatment. This different treatment, also known as winterising your garden, should be done at the end of October up until the first weeks of November.

Reseed your lawn. This is important as the lawn may has stopped growing, but the roots are growing deeper into the grounds as a preparation for winter. This extra feeding will help to boost the grass immunity. Furthermore, it is best to plant tulips, daffodils, crocus hyacinths and other bulbs during autumn for root growth. Apply a layer of mulch to keep the level of soil temperature even.

This time of year will be unkind to the cars that were only a few weeks ago cruising along, embracing those long summer weeks, blissfully unaware of the approaching stresses and strains they may have to endure in the months ahead. So, do take some time to consider how you can prepare your car in every way possible for the most unforgiving of seasons. By adhering to the following tips, we can help to avoid those potentially perilous pitfalls:
HEADLIGHTS Winter brings with it longer hours of darkness meaning motorists should be more alert on the road. It is vital that motorists can both see and be seen by other road users at this time of year and in particular for new drivers that may not have had driving lessons at night time. Driving in the dark with restricted vision can be a stressful experience for some drivers so we are reminding motorists to put on your dipped headlights during the day and use your headlights correctly during the evening and at night. Make sure you can see and be seen – that’s the message to road users. With longer hours of darkness and tougher driving conditions during the winter months, it can further reduce visibility meaning that drivers need to be extra vigilant on the road. During the increasingly darker mornings and evenings it is important to be safe, be seen: use dipped lights even before darkness has fallen. In fading light and dark-

ness, pay particular attention to other vulnerable road users such as cyclists, and pedestrians, especially
in areas without street lighting or proper footpaths. Slow down if the dazzle from the headlights of oncoming traffic is distracting you – and remember to dip your full headlights for oncoming traffic. Make sure to keep your windscreen clean as streaked windows can make it impossible to see in the dark. In darkness always drive at a speed at which you can stop within the distance revealed ahead from your lights (normally 30 metres for dipped lights and 100 metres for full headlights). Driving at night exposes cars with faulty lights which can lead to penalty points so make sure all the lights on your car are in working order including indicators and break lights. It’s more difficult to judge a safe gap in the dark, so never overtake unless you are absolutely certain it is safe to do so.
crucial it is to ensure your tyres are road safe for those looming icy roads. Make sure that both the tread and pres-
sure of your tyres are in tip-top conditions for those lethal winter months. If you haven’t already, don’t forget to replace that spare tyre you last used. Potholes and uneven roads can cause serious damage to tyres, and during Winter they often fill with water which turns to ice, expanding them and making them much worse. The results of a recent AA survey show that 11 per cent of motorists have had a tyre blow out in the last 4 years. With this in mind, the AA is urging motorists to give their car a bit of TLC. Local garages all over the North County will be able to provide you excellent service and offers to get those tyres up to scratch.
BRAKES Brakes, as you know, are of critical importance. Stopping
distance can be heavily compromised this season, so the functionality and sensitivity of the brakes is crucial to the safety level of the vehicle. It’s worth taking them to a nearby garage to have them checked in the next couple of weeks.
case. Accidents are much more common at this time of year, so unwelcome traffic jams may spring up unannounced, so it’s also imperative that you have enough fuel in your car.
PLENTY OF TIME
In the unfortunate case of an emergency, keep gloves and a jumper in the car in case you need to get out of your car to make a call, find the nearest petrol station, clear some snow or ice from your car etc. It is also a very wise idea to have a spade in your boot, by which to

shovel snow if necessary. It is not only important to be proactive because of the safety of the vehicle, but also to help save you time, stress and money. If you start these maintenance checks early, then you can budget for any additional costs over the next few months at a much more manageable rate. So, this week, whilst you’re shopping right here in the North county, start to pick up those necessary products now rather then later. So do take care, stock up and be well prepared for what this season brings.

ANTI-FREEZE Now is the time to stock up on a bottle or two, and fill your car up sooner rather than later. It’ll be too late on that morning you’re in a rush and only realise there’s a thick sheet of ice on your windscreen once you arrive at your car. You don’t want to put yourself in a position where you feel you have to then rush to your destination. Also, remember to have an ice scraper and de-icer handy. You are likely to be able to pick these items up from a local petrol station or a hardware store, of which there are many here in the North County.
TYRES It cannot be emphasised enough how
Dublin GAA legend John O'Leary and his son Tom (4) are pictured here climbing Hill 16 in Croke Park for the fundraising campaign for the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation
Throughout the month of October, people are asked to climb Up the Hill for Jack and Jill. The hill of their choice can be a big hill, small hill, trick or treat hill, treadmill - and to donate ¤16 to support one hour of home nursing care for children with the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation supporting 300 children with life limiting and life threatening conditions around the country Swords resident and former Dublin goalkeeper and double All-Ireland winner, John O’Leary climbed Hill 16 at Croke Park with his son, Tom (4), who has a rare chromosomal disorder. John said that, “Hill 16 is a very special place of inspiration and motivation for all the family.” Father and son were cheered on by John’s wife, Catherine and son, Jack (6). The charity is using the campaign to build awareness of the families under its wing nationwide with sick children, from birth to 4 years old, and the hill they climb every day to keep their child well cared for at home, where they belong, with the help of Jack & Jill nurses. The way this nationwide October campaign works is that people, young and old, fit or aspiring to be, individually or in groups sign up to their choice of hill on www.jackandjill.ie for a once off registration fee of ¤16, which funds one hour of home nursing care for sick children who suffer severe development delay as a result of brain damage.
