Night Ride

A series of typographic and image based posters designed to highlight the main aspects about myself.

Night Ride is a photo film that depicts a familiar evening scene in lower Manhattan. The journey through the busy and crowded streets of Chinatown creates a feeling of grittiness that only the city can show.

FUZZ Magazine

Rain Delay

Throughout the course of one semester I developed a series of posters and other paper goods to represent a personal aesthetic.

There is a rich culture of artists and creators in the surf and skate communities who are often not featured in magazines. FUZZ is the answer.

A photo zine that focuses on the environment of a playground in the rain.

SELF PROMOTION

Typography, Poster Design Advised by Olga Mezhibovskaya, Nada Ray A series of typographic and image based posters designed to highlight the main aspects about myself. Get to know this person known as Sean through these intimate compositions. In an effort to get to know myself better and to show an intimate side of myself to the world, I created these posters to highlight my defining traits. By setting up a bright flash, I was able to create a dramatic portrait in a very high resolution.

NIGHT RIDE

Photo Film Advised by Olga Mezhibovskaya, Nada Ray Night Ride is a photo film that depicts a familiar evening scene in lower Manhattan. The journey through the busy and crowded streets of Chinatown creates a feeling of grittiness that only the city can show. The music is complimentary to the photos in a way that it makes you feel calm and not dirty or gritty. The pacing of the transitions also makes the viewer feel a sense of slowness in contrast to the fast-paced actions that are happening in the city.

POSTINTERNET MUSEUM Branding Advised by Olga Mezhibovskaya, Nada Ray From concept to execution, this museum felt appropriate for todays growing digital climate. The Internet has become a necessity for living in a modern world and the art that is created from this new medium is reflective of the many tasks preformed by it.

POSTINTERNET_MUSEUM

POSTINTERNET

Postinternet denotes an idea in arts and criticism that refers to society and modes of interaction following the widespread adoption of the internet. The term emerged from discussions about Internet Art by Marisa Olson, Gene McHugh, and Artie Vierkant. Guthrie Lonergan and Cory Arcangel have mentioned it as a term for being “internet aware”, which some believe to be more accurate. Generally it is described as art that is about the internet’s effects on aesthetics, culture and society.

DAIRY PUNK

CD Cover Design Advised by Olga Mezhibovskaya, Nada Ray What would dairy products look like if they were punk bands? What sub-genre would they fall into? What would they look like? I’ve noticed that there are plenty of dairy products with interesting names and logos. With this project, I’ve transformed these brands into bands. Based on the name, logo, typography, and other branding elements used in a certain product, I designed a CD cover that is appropriate to the punk genre.

SILKSCREEN PROJECTS Silkscreen, Mixed Media Advised by Larry Wright Throughout the course of one semester I developed a series of posters and other paper goods to represent a personal aesthetic. The word Maze appears in most of the graphics and is a very personal word to me as I’ve been developing it in many graffiti styles since I was eleven years old.

MAIN PALETTE

SECONDARY PALETTE

The five main colors of Fuzz are representative of a clear day and the vivid nature of an outdoor lifestyle. These colors are used to accent photography and stand out as main elements in a composition.

The secondary colors are used to add variety and contrast to the main palette. The brightness reflects a vivid rarity in nature. These colors can be used with a main color. Or on its own depending on the content it is used with.

RAIN DELAY

Photography zine Advised by Olga Mezhibovskaya, Nada Ray A photo zine that focuses on the environment of a playground in the rain. The photos explore the dichotomy of a generally happy, youthful space during a time when it appears somber and cold. There is a sort of magic in seeing this environment in an altered state. The appreciation for life becomes overwhelming while standing in a park in the rain.
