COST OF CANCER
BANANAS AND SLEEP QUALITY
The Step Up For January challenge raised £375. Thank you to those who took part and for those of you who helped me with my steps. Some days it was most definitely a challenge. We still don’t know whether or not we’ll be putting our annual charity ball on in May, so please do watch this space. We need some fresh ideas for fundraising so if anyone’s got some ideas please do share. Don’t forget why we do all of this fundraising. We do it to help those who are going through treatment for Cancer. We help with things like gas, electric, council tax etc. All the bills that do still need to be paid. Anyone who gets in touch will be treated with the upmost privacy. We don’t sell anyone’s details onto anyone else because we don’t believe in it. Your details are just that your details. Please do keep an eye out on our social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram. Which reminds me to mention if you could get your family and friends to like us on these platforms it helps to spread the word of what we do. As restrictions are now easing please do take care of yourselves, be conscious of others and let’s keep us out of another lockdown. I just thought I would leave you with a quote I’ve recently seen which can be for anyone going through any difficult situation not just cancer and it’s this…….. “Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” Nicky, Emma & Cath Trustees
Bananas are rich in sleep-promoting nutrients like magnesium, tryptophan, vitamin B6, carbs, and potassium, all of which have been linked to improved sleep. Besides providing sleeppromoting nutrients, bananas may help improve your sleep by easing digestion and promoting feelings of fullness. In addition to eating bananas before bed, optimizing your sleep hygiene may help you sleep better. That includes winding down techniques, optimizing your sleep environment, and sticking to a bedtime routine. Several supplements, including lavender and magnesium, can help with relaxation and sleep quality when combined with other strategies. MIND In the contest between logic and emotion, there are is one clear winner. How often do we know what the better option is and yet find ourselves following old habits instead. Knowing that it is healthier to avoid junk food, quit smoking or not question our confidence and abilities does not mean that we automatically follow these paths. Lasting change is easier with an understanding of what the behaviour is built on, this goes beyond the rational explanation to determining the underlying emotional connections. Examining that is very powerful, giving us the opportunity to question beliefs and links that have been laid down over many years, many installed when we were growing up and without ever being revisited despite all our subsequent experiences. The attachments to those feelings have made them the default, governing our behaviour even when we know there is a better way. We find security in the familiar, our mind seeking out what is known but there is a way to make deep, long-lasting changes in your life. Hypnotherapy helps re-programme your subconscious mind to release those emotions no longer serving you and move forward with what you want to achieve. Find out more at www.youraffinity.co.uk
