COST OF CANCER

HELP!

Finally, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Fingers crossed the lifting of lockdown continues to go as planned. We are still in need of some fresh ideas for fundraising so if anyone has got some ideas, please do share. I can safely say that we will not be putting the Valley to Coast Walk on this August, but if some of you would like to do the 18 miles over the month of August again as you did it last year, please do feel free, but if you could let us know that would be great. Do not forget why we do all this fundraising. We do it to help those who are going through treatment for Cancer. We help with things like gas, electric, council tax etc. All the bills that do still need to be paid. Anyone who gets in touch will be treated with the upmost privacy. We will not sell your details onto anyone else because we do not believe it is right to do so. Your details are just that, your details. Please do keep an eye out on our social media platforms, Facebook, and Instagram. Which reminds me to mention if you could get your family and friends to like us on these platforms it helps to spread the word of what we do. Take care of yourself and of others. COVID has not gone away fully yet. We do not want to find ourselves in another unfortunate lockdown. Nicky, Emma & Cath Trustees

“What is the bravest thing you ever said?” “Help, “was the reply. The boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse: Charlie Macksey Asking for help isn’t giving up; it’s refusing to give up. Help may come not necessarily from the person you thought would give it, maybe not from family, friend or partner. It may be a random encounter with an acquaintance, who sees your internal struggle when no one else can, not even you! Sometimes people try to solve their difficulties with the same mind that created them, this seldom works. One may not be able to think clearly through a brain fog caused by pain, mental or physical illness. The same thought going round and round, wishing for help, or a different life but everything staying the same as frustration increases. Stop! Take a breath, engage your senses, what can you see touch, taste, hear, & smell? Name them, if you are able let the senses invoke memories of favourite times and know that there is an opportunity to create new memories every morning when you wake up. Even if it didn’t quite feel that way today. Try Andy’s Man Club Porthcawl RFC for peer-to-peer support. info@andysmanclub.co.uk Margaret Brown
