PATRICK LOCICERO

A

In this exhibition, LoCicero turns toward 17th century Italy in search of visual metaphors & symbols. LoCicero became captivated by the archetype known as Pierrot–who we all know, if not by name. He is the fool, the jester, the sad clown, the everyman, whose carefree idealism is both a blessing & a curse on his endless journey. LoCicero unravels this universal & timeless character, exploring themes of comedy, theater, travel & spectacle in this lighthearted & compelling collection of collage paintings.

DAVID FRENCH

TERRAIN

This body of work is a continuation of French’s exploration into painting & his interest in bringing painting into sculptural forms. There is a quiet conversation that the artist engages with, a dance of spontaneity, intuition & preparation, in large part informed by his many years of painting carved-wood sculpture. This series of abstract works balances geometric rhythm with organic movement & texture, creating an evocative play between shape & color.
