Soundbridge comes to the Recital Hall in a new series in which Seattle Symphony musicians combine forces with local talent such as Recess Monkey and Arts Corps. Young audiences will sing and dance with the very best music Seattle has to offer, and parents will have a blast too! Concerts are 45 minutes long. Join us for pre-concert activities 30 minutes before each performance.

Seattle Symphony musicians, led by Principal Second Violin Elisa Barston, take your children on a journey of timeless tales. In Ferdinand the Bull, little Ferdinand would much rather smell the flowers than butt heads with the other bulls. See what happens next when Ferdinand sits on a bumble bee!

Caspar Babypants takes Beatles songs and freshens them up in a minimal way so that kids and parents can both enjoy the melodies and lyrics. The show uses symphonic instruments to bring the simple and beautiful melodies of the Beatles songs to life.

In this wacky murder mystery, everyone seems to have a motive, everyone has an alibi, and nearly everyone is a musical instrument. Discover the instruments of the orchestra as the Inspector interrogates all of the usual suspects. Wear your costumes to this symphonic whodunit! Music by Nathaniel Stookey.

Youths from the Puget Sound region will perform local works, including a new piece from Seattle Opera's Our Earth project, composed by Eric Banks with libretti by Irene Keliher. When salmon fail to return to the sea one spring, Orca, Raven, Coyote and a greedy fisherman head upriver on a journey of a lifetime.

P ETR USH K A Ludovic Morlot, conductor Russian dance comes to the Symphony. The Olympic Ballet Theatre puts a modern spin on the classic Russian children’s story about a puppet that comes to life — set to the music from Stravinsky’s famous Petrushka.

THE COMPOSER IS DEAD What happens when the composer goes missing? Children become musical detectives and interview the instruments of the orchestra to create their own original composition.

Children make their own soundtrack to this classic magical tale of a snowman's adventures.

CARNEGIE HALL’S THE ORCHESTRA SINGS Cost: $43 per child / Ages 8-10 / Times: 11am & 12:30pm Children will learn to play songs such as “Ode to Joy,” “Simple Gifts” and “I Bought Me a Cat” on recorder, and will learn about the instruments of the orchestra. Participants in this extended Discover Music Preview Class will receive a recorder, a “The Orchestra Sings” T-shirt and the opportunity to perform onstage with the Seattle Symphony.

OUR EARTH Seattle Opera teaching artists invite children to learn creative ways to make noise and music, explore the science of sound, and uncover the ingredients of theater magic in this fun day of discovery.

PETRUSHKA This classic Russian tale explores the adventures of Petrushka, a straw puppet that comes to life. Children will explore the characters of this story through movement and sound with creative movement artist, Mary Margaret Moore.
