Our cover photographer... Max Lee Photography I moved to Wisconsin with my wife and daughter from California in 2011. My journey in photography began with the birth of my child. I’ve found that photography is timeless and has the ability to endure the test of time. One image can transport one instantaneously to any moment in our lives and allow us to hold those moments close to our hearts. For me, photography blends my creativity and love of science. My education background as a physicist, the study of light has always fascinated me and cameras allow me to ”paint” with light to create unique images for each of my clients. Wedding photography tells a story of love and commitment, captures the little moments of the day that otherwise would be forgotten and lost. I am truly blessed to have such lasting relationships and memorable moments with many of my clients. Their excitement and love is invigorating and interacting with them serves as a constant reminder of the love I share with my wife of 16 years. Whether it is during our initial meetand-greet, their engagement session, final rehearsal, and ultimately, the big day. I make it my top priority to make sure that every special moment will stand the test of time as heirlooms for years to come. -Max Lee

Something Blue, Something Green

D

id you know that in the United Sates the wedding industry is estimated at $72 billion (1)? With approximately 2.5 million weddings held each year, negative impacts to the environment can add up quickly. However with a little planning and a little (more) attention to detail, you can still have your dream wedding while being eco-friendly and creating less waste. We broke down the do’s and don’ts into categories to help you, regardless of what stage in the planning process you are.

Know Your Numbers

Before you start any planning, create have a budget. Decide how much you and your fiancé can afford to spend, and ask if family members may be contributing as well. Keep a running budget of estimated and actual expenses. Also, estimate the number of people you want to invite as this impacts the cost of the wedding significantly at the reception. Eco-friendly products may cost more, while other options may save you money. Either way, you don’t want to go broke trying to have the “perfect” wedding day, so a budget is key.

Get the Word Out

Tell your family, friends, wedding party and guests about your plans for a “green” wedding. Look for save the date and invitation options that are sustainable: ones that have a high-recycled content, or are from producers with sustainable certifications like SFI or FSC. Some papers are embedded with wildflowers or other seeds to plant. Just check the UW Extension Horticulture website to make sure the flowers you are purchasing are native. A wedding website is a great way to reduce the amount of materials you need to send with your invitations. Maps, hotels, agendas and registries can all be distributed through a free website. You could even start a new trend: #greenwedding #notrashdashtothealter #greenbridebrigade.

Something Borrowed

Reuse items when you can. Men rent suits, so why not consider having your bridesmaids or other wedding party members rent their dresses? Also look for brides selling decorations on Facebook marketplace or Craiglist. (I recently purchased gently used tablecloths and napkins from a bride for only $75!)

Trash Talk

Don’t use single use plastics! Make a statement and outlaw plastic water bottles and plastic straws. Set up a cute water station with reusable or biodegradable cups. Go without straws or look for paper ones in sureto-match-your-theme colors at local craft supply stores.

by Brianne Markin, Beaver Creek Reserve

Make sure that your reception facility has clearly marked recycling bins. In most areas plastics marked 1-5 & 7 are recyclable. Don’t use Styrofoam; instead bring reusable containers for taking home wedding cake and any other leftovers (if allowed by your catering facility). Opt for reusable cloth napkins and tablecloths over disposable ones.

Buy Local

Locally made goods tend to be better for the environment because they typically require less energy to create and distribute. Plus, buying local helps your friends, neighbors and the local economy grow.

Less is More, More or Less

By now, most people should know the “Three R’s.” Pay close attention to the first one: Reduce. While weddings seem to be getting more and more extravagant, they are also creating more waste. Do less. Keep your decorations simple and natural. Don’t buy crepe paper and balloons, neither of which can be reused or recycled. Instead of giving away wedding favors, consider having a donation made in honor of your guests. While little tins of candy, personalized lip balm and candles are cute, they also create a lot of waste. We would like to think that our guests will keep these mementos forever, but that is rarely the case. I am fairly certain no one but my mom saved her combination bookmark/name card. If you really want to go the favor route, look for products with recyclable containers, items that are reusable, items with a high-recycled content, or locally made goods.

Don't Let it Go

Don’t have butterfly, balloon or bird releases. Butterflies raised for sale to the wedding market can carry diseases that can be spread to local populations. Balloons eventually come back to the ground. In addition to being litter, they can cause harm to birds, fish and other wildlife who ingest them. As for releasing doves or pigeons, often these birds have been caged and domesticated and, if they were to get loose, have no survival skills.

Final Thoughts

Don’t make yourself too crazy trying to make your wedding day perfect. Take the time to appreciate your hard work and planning at some point during the day. Remember that the most important impact your wedding should have is creating happy memories for you and your guests! 1. https://blog.marketresearch.com/the-wedding-industry-in-2017-and-beyond w w w. re c e pt i o n t o f o l l o w.com | 13

Tie your knot with us

The Oxbow is a modern venue with intimate spaces, one- of-a-kind details and a destination atmosphere. Here, you’ll find indoor and outdoor ceremony options, fullservice dinner selections with menus curated by you (yes, you!) alongside The Lakely’s Chef, boutique rooms for your family and friends, and a stage for live music or a DJ so you can dance the night away.

Dream with us

We’ve got the perfect place for you, and your guests, to lay their heads while they’re here celebrating your wedding! We offer a full range of accommodations, including suites, which boast modern-lodge furnishings, record players, locallysourced snack trays and mini-bars. The Main House is home to 12, two-room suites and two studios; and The Flats, an adjacent building, holds 16 outdoor-access single, standard rooms.

Partake with us

Just as the kitchen is often referred to as the heart of the home, our restaurant, The Lakely, is at the heart of our property. Not simply a restaurant, the Lakely delivers chef-inspired, farmer- sourced, made-from-scratch fare; a full-service bar with local brews and one-of-a-kind craft cocktails; and a music venue complete with stage, live music, DJ appearances and a pulse on the local Eau Claire music scene.

Sport with us

Some of our favorite pastimes include exploring the raw and natural beauty in our little niche of the Northwoods, and of course, we want to share this with our guests! Not only will you find fun and games inside our walls, you’ll also be able to play yard games on our special manicured lawn, mingle around our fire pits or take your experience a step further and enjoy the use of our vintage-styled fleet of bikes, including a tandem (what a cool wedding photo op!). If the water calls to you, we’ll help you plan a canoe or kayak outing with w w w. re c e pt i o n t o f o l l o w.com | 17 our pals over at Riverside Bike & Skate.

Cabin Ridge is a private nature retreat located in the middle of 440 acres along scenic Paint Creek. Our family has been making memories here since 1850. We invite couples to start their new journey memories with us. Horses and wagon will transport guests along 1/2 miles of serene trails through the woods to the wedding and reception area. The joyous ringing of our 100 year old bell heralds the arrival of the bride in her carriage.

The History of Hair Removal

Products and methods for hair removal from the ages.

Gillette creates the first razor specifically for women. A leading women’s fashion magazine runs an ad featuring a woman with her arms raised and her armpits bare, the first of it’s kind.

1970’s

1980’s Present

This century ushered in a more civilized approach to hair removal. Jean Jacques Perret, a French barber, created the first straight razor for men which was used by some women.

Electrolysis becomes more reliable with the development of transistorized equipment. There was also a resurgence in the removal of bikini area hair as the swimsuit fad of the 60’s stuck around.

1960’s

Early 1900’s

1800’s 1700’s

Middle Ages

Ancient Egypt The fashion of this era was to remove eyebrows and hair from the forehead - to make it appear larger. They did this by using walnut oil or bandages soaked in ammonia (which they got from their feline pets) and vinegar.

One of first depilatory creams is created. Also King Camp Gillette created the first modern day razor for men. However, it would be another three decades before a razor specifically marketed for women would appear.

Remington released the first electric razor in 1940. Due to wartime shortage of nylon, more products and techniques for hair removal hit the market as woman were forced to go bare legged more often.

1940’s

During the Roman Empire, the lack of body hair was considered a sign of the classes. Wealthy women and men used razors made from flints, tweezers, creams, and stones to remove excess hair.

Roman Empire

Woman of ancient Egypt removed all of their body hair, including that on their heads, with tweezers (made from seashells), pumice stones, or early beeswax and sugar based waxes.

Wax strips made their debut and quickly became the method of choice for removing unwanted hair under the arms and on legs.

Today, most women rely on some form of hair removal in their everyday beauty routines, whether its tweezing, shaving, waxing or depilatory. New technologies in hair removal have made it one of the most popular beauty services out there.

Make Your Wedding a Main Stage Event By Becky Streeter

P

icture this: You and your future spouse, saying your “I do’s” on the same stage where you first saw the iconic Eric Church and Brad Paisley at Country Fest, or maybe it was Kid Rock and Korn at Rock Fest. Now, Fest Valley Events in Cadott, Wisconsin can make this dream come true. Wade Asher, General Manager of Fest Valley Events, said the decision to add weddings to the venue was an easy one. “Our venue on the festival concert grounds holds a lot of meaning for a lot of people,” says Asher. “At the music festivals, people from all over the country tell me how beautiful our setting is. There’s a natural beauty out here that you really can’t find many other places.” He says many people meet the love of their life during the festivals, so why not give them the opportunity to celebrate that love where it all began?

Three different packages are available to choose from depending on the desired experience and the size of the event: • The Main Stage Celebration can accommodate 350 guests and comes with all the frills: linens, napkins, centerpieces, tables, chairs, silverware, and two bartenders/security guards. Bridal parties also get to enjoy the use of artist dressing rooms! • Ceremony in the Woods is perfect for smaller settings. It can accommodate up to 100 guests and is tucked away in a romantic wooded area with log bench seating, and includes the use of a wooden archway. This package can be paired with the Main Stage Celebration for a discounted rate. • The Weekend Retreat includes all aspects of both the Main Stage Celebration and Ceremony in the Woods packages, but the space is rent for both Friday and Saturday. This option is great for those looking to make a destination wedding out of their celebration. Electric camping spots are also available with this option. Fest Valley Events will take care of everything. Asher states, “Our main goal is to make sure the wedding couple and their families have zero worries so they can just enjoy their day.” Each wedding is staffed according to size and event plan, and everything is set up ahead of time with the Venue Coordinator. They also provide a list vendors who have worked previous events on the grounds and are familiar with the space and process. From caterers and photographers to DJ’s and limo services--you name it, they can recommend it. Fest Valley Events knows and trusts each vendor they recommend. Asher says, “The last thing I want is for our wedding couples to have a bad experience at our venue because of another vendor involved. We take partnerships seriously because ultimately those partner vendors affect the wedding couple and their big day.”

Fest Valley Events officially launched the brand in February of 2019 on Valentine’s Day, and they are excited to do their first wedding this July. They are currently booking for weddings in 2019, 2020, and 2021. As Fest Valley Events continues to grow, they are hoping to expand to corporate and charities events and even more festivals at the venue. For more information or to set up a tour of the venue, visit their website at festvalleyevents.com or send an email to festvalleyevents@gmail.com. w w w. re c e pt i o n t o f o l l o w.com | 47

Who Is the Smartest Mirror of Them All? By Becky Streeter

P

hoto booths are pretty customary at weddings these days. They often come with crazy hats and glasses, funny wigs and fake ties. But what about something that you can sign your name on, personalize with a message for the bride and groom, or even add a digital emoji to your photograph printout? Tammy Angell decided this was the next step for a great wedding experience, and the evolution of the photo booth.

Your Destination Wedding & Honeymoon Experts

Your Day, Your Way

Angell, who has worked as an independent IT specialist for over ten years, was fascinated when she came across MirrorMe—an interactive, photo-generating, full-length mirror. Having quite bit of experience in the IT world, Angell knew this concept was a good fit for her, and an even better fit for the Chippewa Valley. Based on this similar digital platform, she developed the “Angell Mirror.” It’s a user-friendly interface that communicates with entertaining voices, colorful animations, and a touch screen. You can write or draw whatever you like on the mirror, and it will transfer to the photograph when printed. “The mirror does most of the work for you,” Angell states. “All you have to do is follow the interactive steps. Two taps on the screen will get you high quality photos. Anyone can use Angell Mirror.” The mirror also includes games such as tic-tac-toe, a guessing game, and card games. The 4” x 6” photographs are printed in high quality on a glossy, smudge-free paper. Photos are available immediately, and the all of the rights to the images are free. A digital copy can be provided for additional prints at no extra cost. Those silly hats and glasses are still included for that little something extra to top off your image. Angell’s team also brings backdrops, a ring light, and a red carpet with ropes to make it feel extra fancy. Staff attends each event in case there are questions about the mirror or its capabilities. Angell says, “My favorite part of Angell Mirror is providing a unique and fun experience for our customers. I love seeing people of all ages having fun. We provide a one of a kind experiences that creates memories.” Angell Mirrors provides services to the Chippewa Valley region and is willing to travel to surrounding areas up to 120 miles. Check out the product at AngellMirror.com or on Facebook. 48 | w ww.r ec eption tofo llo w.co m

Tent Rental Tips for Your Outdoor Wedding By Briggs Party & Tent Rental

I

f you are planning an outdoor wedding, you really should plan to rent a tent. You can’t control the weather, and you don’t want to get caught in the rain. The best time to start thinking about renting a tent is when you start looking at venues. If a location doesn’t have indoor options, you will want to know that up front so that you can factor the tent rental cost into your budget. Roger Briggs at Brigg’s Tent Rental in Eau Claire, says it’s also a good idea to reserve your tent “eight to twelve months ahead” or availability may be tight. As with all the vendors for your wedding, do your research, advises Briggs. “Look for reputable vendors, read reviews, and ask other vendors who they recommend. We maintain inventory that is specifically used for weddings, and so are able to offer the highest quality tents for your wedding.” Next, estimate what size tent you’ll need. Talk to tent rental businesses to get a better idea of how much square footage you’ll need for 1) the ceremony, 2) the reception—and ask about how big of a tent is needed for each of the various types of reception: cocktail party, seated dinner, or buffet. Square tents are better because they have taller ceilings and will have more air circulation. They will also help everyone feel equally included. Once you know the size tent you’ll need, decide what type of tent you prefer, keeping in mind space, looks, and cost. The two most common types of tents are pole tents and frame tents. Pole tents look better with their swooping roof. They are also generally less expensive and

50 | w ww.r ec eption tofo llo w.co m

require less set up time. Disadvantages to pole tents are that the will have center poles inside and they have to be staked into the ground, which requires five to eight feet on all sides for stakes and anchors. Frame tents have the advantage that they can be put up on any surface—a driveway, parking lot, deck, etc. You also can configure a series of them, allowing more possibilities of rooms and spaces to use. They are more expensive, and they do take longer to set up. Also, the framework can be seen inside the tent; usually you have to rent a liner to cover this up. Last, ask about other extras, such as lighting, flooring, and heating or cooling. Then you are ready to get a quote. Make sure the quote includes delivery fees, setup fees, any permits needed, and take-down. Be sure you understand and can live with the cancellation policy. Make sure the vendor realizes this tent will be for a wedding and you are expecting a nice-looking tent. Find out how long they estimate setup will take, so you can factor that into the overall schedule—will they need to come the day before to set up? If so, how would that affect cost? Compare quotes and features of each vendor and choose the one you think will work best for you. Brigg’s has helpful printouts on the website (briggstent.com) for estimating tent size, linen sizing, and other aspects of the tent rental process. Their entire annual catalog is also available as a PDF link on the website, with all the various tent sizes and types listed along with prices, as well as all the information you need about extras. They offer free estimates, and they deliver and install within a 200-mile radius of Eau Claire. Briggs’s overall tip, “Enjoy the day! Don’t worry about the small stuff.”

The Venue: A premier conference venue in Northwestern Wisconsin! The 5900 square foot facility can accommodate groups from 20 to 400 people. The character of the original mill lends itself well to the current industrial design trend. A touch of the rustic with an industrial-modern, elegant flair (and all of the moden conveniences) combine to create an atmosphere that will wow any guest. From the one-hundredyear-old Gothic arch Quonset to the modern-industrial Bin room to the chic and luxurious bride room, no design opportunity was left untouched.

Standout Features:

Bridal Suite:

Elegance is everywhere at The Mill! The distinctive and fully equipped bar—situated in the Bin Room under the one remaining, massive steel structures that give the space character and presence— features quartz counters and original industrial bar stools. The grand ballroom is The Quonset. This space can seat 295 guests and the one-hundred-year-old Gothic arches make for great party acoustics! Other features include a groom's lounge, elegantly appointed restroom facilities, a 14'X20' deck and designated smoking areas. The two main spaces, the Bin Room and the Quonset can be separated by closing the commercial doors between them. This gives your guests a space to break away from the party if the need to do so, or we can open them up and keep the party flowing through both spaces. Either way, the stateof-the-art surround sound system will keep your guests entertained at the appropriate volume all-night long.

The elegant bridal suite has ample room so that you and your bridal party are pampered as you prepare for your wedding. We didn’t forget the other part of the wedding party as we created a comfortable groom's lounge to help occupy the guys as they wait for the ladies!

Extras: We want to make things as hasslefree as we can. Included in the rental fee are all of the tables and chairs, risers, technology package, and shuttle service! Source: venuereport.com

How Will Your Wedding Day Be Remembered? By Dawn Anderson, custom poet, CreatetheDawn.com

On your 10-year wedding anniversary, you will cringe at your “cutting edge” lumberjacktheme wedding decision in 2020. You may regret all your fashion choices. Remember those ‘80s weddings with balloon-like poufy sleeves and long tailcoat tuxes? How about old school veils puffed up like a Polish breed chicken?

IS THERE A BABY IN YOUR FUTURE?

There are no 1967 wedding pictures of my parents displayed anywhere. The bride was beautiful, ultrablonde and dressed in lacy white. The groom was tall and handsome. Everything was lovely…except the bold, black horn-rimmed glasses sported by the bride. Looking for a better way to capture the spirit of your day, your love, and your personality as a newlywed couple that doesn’t involved any sort of cutting-edge style or current wedding trend? The newest, and arguably most long-lasting, wedding tradition is a custom personalized poem. Your wedding is one of the most important days in your relationship and possibly one of the most expensive. The officiant’s words of wisdom through the vows, ring exchange, and kiss take about 15 minutes and are, quite often, only slightly personalized. A poem written for you by a professional poet who takes the time to learn about you as a couple will become a cherished family treasure. Not only will it bring more emotion and meaning to your ceremony, it will hang on your wall as a descriptive reminder of your love and devotion. Frame your custom poem with your wedding photo, send it in your “thank-you” notes, and put it on the first page of your photo album. Long after the party is over, the wedding cake is eaten, the dress is dry-cleaned and hanging in the attic, your beautiful day will be commemorated by your lumberjack-themed photos and your oneof-a-kind custom, personalized poem.

If you are ready to start or grow your family, we are here to help. Our team of experts provides whole-person care from pre-pregnancy planning to fertility care and prenatal care to delivery, right here in your community. Call 715-972-1360 to tour our labor and delivery suites, and learn more about our program. Go to mayoclinichealthsystem.org/ready4baby for program videos.

Let me help you cherish your day. Dawn Anderson, www.createthedawn.com, createthedawn@gmail.com. w w w. re c e pt i o n t o f o l l o w.com | 59

Is a Destination Wedding Right for You? by Higgins Travel Leaders of Eau Claire

D

estination weddings can be more casual, offer a sense of adventure and even prove less expensive than traditional nuptials. Here are some reasons why one might be right for you.

but for their guests, as well. It’s a chance to take a break from the daily routine. Your travel agent can also help you plan special excursions and activities that your guests can enjoy as a group or on their own.

Think about the opportunity for quality time. With everyone’s busy schedules, filled with work and family obligations, it can be difficult to bring the most important people in your life together. Weddings are one of those happy occasions when people want to make the effort, so make the most out of the opportunity. Having family and friends in the same place over several days helps ensure that you’ll get to spend some quality time with each other, rather than maybe talking for a few minutes at the reception. It also gives family members and friends who may not have seen each other in a while a chance to catch up. Plus, guests on each side of the aisle can really get to know one another, forging a strong bond between the two sets of families and friends.

Planning can be easier and less stressful, and maybe even cheaper. Resorts catering to destination weddings will usually provide the bride and groom with the services of a professional wedding planner. That individual will put together a package with everything you’ll need for your big day. You won’t have to worry about making multiple phone calls to vendors, and you’ll have fewer stressinducing decisions to make. You can keep things simple – no need for elaborate decorations when the backdrop to your ceremony is so gorgeous. Of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t add some touches to make things more personal. And when you add up the cost of a destination wedding versus a traditional ceremony and reception, you may find that you’re saving money. Plus, once the ceremony is over, you’ll already be at your honeymoon spot.

It’s also a vacation for your guests. By working with your travel agent to get the best deals on airfare and accommodations, you’ll enable your guests to not only share in your happiness, but also enjoy a getaway. Destination weddings take place in fun, relaxing and romantic spots, places your family and friends may have always wanted to visit. And now you’re giving them the perfect opportunity. Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, even southern Europe, are popular choices. Closer to home, Florida and California also offer great wedding options. By getting away, the wedding becomes more of an event not only for the bride and groom,

Weddings are an opportunity for friends and family to come together and show their love and support for the happy couple. A destination wedding, by giving all involved the gift of additional time together, can make the occasion even more special. Choosing Your Entertainment

Custom Poetry

By Paul Wilkes, All Occasions DJ Service

T

he question was popped and the date is set. You’ve chosen your venue and now it’s time for the second most important wedding decision...the entertainment! “Your day, your way” is a saying that a lot of people use, and for a good reason--it is your day and it should be centered around you and your spouse. However, you need to remember whether it's 100 or 300 people coming to your reception, they have all different tastes in music, and getting them to dance can be challenging. You need more from your DJ or band. You need a DJ that can take all the different musical tastes and make sure that ALL of your guests leave with a smile. Anyone can play music, but it takes a skilled entertainer to really customize your night. “Entertainment” is the key word here. It’s not just about providing music because anybody can press play on a computer. What every wedding truly needs is an entertainer: someone who will not only play the right music, but also stay in touch with the guests and help facilitate a fun and memorable event. Your wedding day will go fast and the last thing you need to worry about is making sure things are in order. A great group of vendors should take that off your shoulders and that includes your DJ as well. When it comes to equipment for your wedding entertainment, more isn’t always the best solution. A DJ or band that tries to setup a concert in your reception hall is just taking away from all the time you spent decorating and putting those little touches on your night. A good DJ or band will try to blend in and bring enough sound and lights, not to overpower the room, but keep an elegant touch that matches your style. No matter which entertainment experience you choose, know that it’s YOUR special day, and your entertainer should be focused on making it as fun and stress-free as possible. Whether you decide a DJ or band, set up a meeting with them to ensure they fit your personality. All Occasions DJ Service provides true entertainerment to help guide your wedding guests toward a night they’ll never forget. Congratulations on your wedding day and CHEERS to a great party!

Your poem, written for you by Dawn, is the most memorable, essential, and lasting tribute to your wedding and to your love.

Unveil Beautiful, Glowing Skin for the Big Day By Heidi Jarecki, MD

T

he invitations are sent, the venue chosen, the menu set and the photographer ready. So much planning goes into a wedding! Whether you are the bride, part of the wedding party, or mother of the bride or groom, everyone wants to unveil a beautiful wedding day look. What is the best way to radiate joy and confidence on the big day? Preparation. Plan your way to gorgeous by remembering the three F’s: face, features, freedom. FACE A perfect wedding day glow begins with healthy skin. Blemishes from acne, brown spots from too much sun, broken capillaries and redness from rosacea, and fine lines and wrinkles can dampen the joy you are trying to convey. Professional aesthetic care to the rescue! Begin by working with an experienced aesthetician three to six months in advance. Craft a plan so you know the time and financial investment needed. A blend of clinical facials, microdermabrasion, and good home skincare routines are often all that is needed for 20 and early 30-year-olds. Plan treatments monthly with the last treatment one week before the festivities. For those with acne, exfoliation is key. Scarring can be addressed with resurfacing from chemical peels or microneedling. Both yield substantial results but require downtime and a series of treatments to maximize results. For those in their mid to late 30’s, 40’s and beyond, unwanted pigmentation and fine lines are problematic, making photofacials (light based treatments for pigment and redness) and chemical peels desirable additions to the staples of facials and microdermabrasion. Even the most active, ingredient-laden facial will be relaxing and provide some much needed stress relief. FEATURES Sparkling eyes, sophisticated brows, a welcoming smile--a radiant face comes to life with accented features. While many are familiar with the transformation well done makeup can achieve, professional makeup lessons can help demystify the application process. Practice with quality product and learn good technique so these skills can extend beyond the wedding day. Simple, inexpensive treatments like brow and lash tinting thicken and darken lashes and brows. Brow shaping creates definition. Expect results to last four weeks. Trial these services at least twice before the big day so you are accustomed to the results.

68 | w ww.r ec eption tofo llo w.co m

Quick, easy Botox® or Dysport® brow lift and lip pop treatments contour brows and create lip fullness by using carefully placed aliquots of medicine to soften muscle contraction. Expect two to three month duration of effects. Need a more dramatic result? Fillers like Juvéderm Volbella® or Restylane® can add more long-lasting lip volume. Trying to recapture some youthful fullness? Facial contouring with dermal fillers like Restylane Lyft® or Juvéderm Voluma® accents cheekbones, fills temples and creates a long-lasting, liquid-lifting effect that requires minimal downtime. Want to avoid the dreaded angry look? Botox® and Dysport® can be used to soften harsh, unwanted lines from frowning or scowling. When considering injections, work with a physician or nurse who has a demonstrated track record of aesthetic success. A thorough preprocedural consult should answer all your questions. FREEDOM Whether you are planning a strapless gown or envisioning a honeymoon on the beach, unwanted hair can lower your body confidence. Plan ahead for smoothness! Body waxing is a quick, effective solution. Hot and cold waxes exist, creating many comfortable options for face and body. More permanent results can be achieved with laser hair removal. A series of treatments is needed so schedule your treatments promptly to enjoy the luxury of a life sans shaving. Just like a happy marriage, a gorgeous wedding day glow requires attention. A little planning and a solid aesthetic partnership created now can enhance the upcoming momentous day, freeing you to enjoy the magic! Dr. Heidi Jarecki is the medical director at Denovo Medspa in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Denovo Medspa is a premiere-service luxury spa that specializes in skincare treatments and aesthetic expertise for over 11 years. To schedule your complimentary consultation, call 715-835-2285.
