Bishop’s Epistle

March 4, 2018

TELL ME, “HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED WHEN YOU DIE?

STANDING FIRM IN THE CHRISTIAN FAITH Sons and Daughters of My Parish Flock, Grace to You!

I

n this day of turmoil and trouble, we Christians are to remain ever committed to historic Christian teachings on biblical values, morality, character, and are to witness the same in our lives.

Because the Lord Christ has charged His Church to: “But Sanctify (reverence) the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15). Moreover, we are taught “to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). We must stand firm for the body of truth once all is given to the church, it is not to be added to or subtracted from. WHY? The Lord Christ depends on His Church to represent Him in all things. “You are witnesses, in God also, how devoutly and justly and blamelessly we behaved our-selves among you who believe” (I Thessalonians 2:10).

The Christian’s hope of the return of Jesus, the Christ is rooted in the fact that He was raised from the dead, which delivered equals the Deliverer. The wrath is to come. The judgments to come are seen in (Revelation 59: 6:16). We will be tested when we publicly stand up for our Christian beliefs. Often you will find unsettling stress of criticism. Now add concerns to change, conflict, and criticism, and or mental and emotional mettle is tested further. Concerns are the worries and anxieties we carry about ourselves and others. Our health, our success or lack of it, unresolved frustrations, anticipated troubles---all congeal into our major cause of stress. Tiredness sets in, effectiveness is dulled, and our resiliency runs down and we feel boxed in. But God has promised us the victory through the power of the Holy Spirit within. Stand up and be a witness. Do not let the opinions of others stop you from being a witness for Christ. Remember the crucial thing is to discover our central. Anyone who has been Spirit baptized in Jesus Christ is called into the ministry. A minister is a servant. We are to serve Christ in all that we do. Therefore, let every saint fulfill his/her destiny by witnessing for our Lord Christ. Amen
