Bishop’s Epistle

April 16, 2017

CHRISTIANS’ SINFUL ACTIONS CONTRADICTS THE BIBLICAL MESSAGE! Holy Sons and Daughters, Grace to you! I have taught you over the years that there is an inseparable fellowship between the saints’ growth in Christ Jesus and growth in brotherly love. The Bible teaches: “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21). The Christians’ fellowship with each other in the local body of Christ are a test of our holy sanctification. The Church body is a “holy” fellowship. We belong to our Lord, and are to be to each other what He has been to us. The more we grow in Christ love and forgiveness, the more we care for fellow saints. The sinful-(unsaved) people around us including our personal family members), laughs at our inability to live what we teach, preach, and witness so eloquently from God’s Word. We are often guilty of bringing our old habits, culturally conditioned attitudes into the church fellowship: Criticism, competition, fundamentalism. Gossip are often more prevalent than in a secular club. Why? Where do you and I need to grow up to the measure of the status of Christ? Ephesians 4:13, gives a clear word, “Till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” The transforming process of sanctification means a total reorientation of our thinking, feelings, attitudes, goals and priorities. It will not all be smooth and easy for Christians. The Lord will continue His work in us, until all of life is under His guidance and power. Perhaps you have been satisfied with your level of Christian growth, and yet, are you really? I realize that I am asking you and me to be honestly analytical about our life in Christ. But tell me, ‘what ways have we grown in this past month? Our answer will tell us whether we are sinful in actions, thus contradicting the biblical message. Amen Until He Comes, I Am Serving Christ Joyfully, Bishop Dr. Wm. LaRue Dillard Parish Under-shepherd
