What is ISDA? The International Security Driver Association (ISDA) serves the Protective Services community, with an emphasis on Security Driving and Secure Transportation. It is time for those that work in the industry to be recognized for their contribution they make to the safety and security of those they serve. The Need The importance of Security Driving and Secure Transportation has been well documented. Most events that have shaped the industry and continue to be problematic have been and are vehicle-related. The most important members of the industry – the decision makers, those who supply job opportunities have recognized that security driver/secure transportation professionals are value-added members of the security team.

Membership Benefits ISDA offers continuing educational and a precedent setting career center. Educational Benefits The ISDA Resource Center creates an ongoing learning environment for ISDA members. It is the gateway to the industry’s largest collection of educational information and resources for the Protection Professional, with subjects specifically designed to increase their knowledge and marketability. The Center has over 180 posts, power points presentations, recorded webinars, videos, white papers, etc. Career Center Networking and Marketing Benefits - ISDA creates the platform for members to use the most powerful and proven marketing tool available - Word of Mouth. Members will have the opportunity to market their skills, and for those in the private sector their services to over 20,000 security practitioners. Job listings from the ISDA members, and are mostly corporate and High Net Worth positions. Advice - ISDA offers career enhancing webinars from those with a history of success. ISDA leverages 40 years of service to the profession to assist ISDA members to reach their Goals.
ISDA Certification Most of the training offered in the industry is not for certification, it is training for a certificate. Although a training certificate is valuable, it is not a certification as defined by the credentialing organizations that are the standards in all other professions. The simple fact is that the training community does not set the criteria for certification. The quality and legitimacy of the certification is determined by the standards used to govern the program. For a Certification to be recognized by the market it serves, requires a combination of experience, and a certification process that ensures an individual has been tested and measured to an objective standard. ISDA offers to its members that are eligible certification in Security Driving and Secure Transportation. ISDA is not like other associations - we do not offer training leading to a certification. To qualify for Certification requires a test of knowledge and verification of skill combined with a minimum of two years of continuous experience in the profession. The Certification Process is voluntary. Practitioners can become an ISDA member and elect NOT to qualify for Certification. The ISDA Certification is not for everyone; member applicants must qualify for certification. The ISDA certification cannot be purchased; it must be earned.
