wELCOME TO

SEcUrItY 2015 I’m particularly excited to welcome you to this year’s Security Exhibition & Conference which celebrates its 30th anniversary in a milestone event. This gives us great cause to honour the past three decades of the security industry and the products, companies and figures that have shaped it into the dynamic industry that it is today.

cELEbratInG

The event’s longevity is testament to the on-going support from our Lead Industry Partner, ASIAL as well as our sponsors, partners and exhibitors, some of which have been involved with the event since its inception in 1986. By recognising the past we also look to the future, and this year will see some of the best product innovation to come out of the security industry as well as insightful education with the Security Seminar Series and the ASIAL Security Conference. So we invite you to join in the celebrations and connect with over 4,500 peers to network, share ideas, toast successes and create opportunities in the largest industry event for the Australasian security community. Thank you for your valued support, enjoy this year’s special event.

YEarS Of cOnnEctInG tHE SEcUrItY InDUStrY

Alanna Phillips Exhibition Manager Security Exhibition & Conference Organised by Diversified Communications Australia

To all visitors and participants, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2015 Security Exhibition & Conference. Celebrating its 30th year, Security is Australasia’s premier industry event. This year’s event has attracted unparalleled interest from many of the world’s leading and innovative suppliers of security technologies and solutions. Rapidly changing developments in technology, shifting organisational priorities, limited resources and the emergence of new threats and risks, are just some of the challenges faced by security professionals today. Over the next few days you will get the opportunity to hear from industry leaders and experience firsthand the exciting and innovative range of new products and solutions available to help you meet these challenges. Thank you for your support and enjoy your visit.

His presentation will identify prerequisites for new organisational and community threats that are beginning to escalate in breadth and severity. Also, new “controls” will be presented that are emerging to address these threats.

Company Name: Security Merchants Product: Yale Professional Wireless Alarm Platform Stand Number: G14 Website: www.security-merchants.com Verification & Automation combined with a 2Km wireless range plus IP, 3G and GPRS reporting make the Yale Pro so much more than a wireless alarm. With integrated video verification, IFTTT automation sequences and ZigBee support, Yale’s Professional Series has transformed the wireless alarm into an automation and security platform!

SALTO’S JustIN MOBILE KEY TECHNOLOGY ALLOWS USERS TO USE THEIR SMARTPHONE TO ACCESS DOORS. And it’s all easy to do: An end-user only needs to download the JustIN Mobile Key app to their BLE-enabled smartphone and then to communicate to the key issuing authority that they want to receive their door key via smartphone. The operator needs only to select from the ProAccess SPACE software to send the encrypted key securely Over the Air (OTA) to the user’s smartphone. With the JustIN Mobile Key app previously installed, the app will alert the user that a new Mobile Key has been received. 15-17 JULY 2015

EXHIbItOr Q&a you have been a loyal and long-time exhibitor at the show; tell us what keeps you coming back and how it benefits exhibitors like you?

maGnEtIc aUtOmatIOn:

nESS cOrpOratIOn:

The Security Exhibition is a great opportunity to showcase our products to a targeted audience. Not only can potential clients see our diverse product range, but existing customers are sometimes surprised by the products that they weren’t previously aware we supplied. It gives us a good awareness of what our competitors are launching in the market place in a social and informal atmosphere in which we can candidly talk about our respective products and ‘touch and feel’ our competitor product offerings. What’s more it offers a great meeting place for our customers, particularly those from interstate, to see us in a face to face environment.

For us, taking part in the Security Exhibition keeps us in front. It’s an increasingly competitive market with pressures from overseas suppliers and we need all the exposure we can get to stay ahead. Participating in the show keeps us top of mind with potential customers and allows us to showcase new products to the right clients and target markets. While we have a reasonable idea of what our competition is doing, it’s also good for exhibitors to witness first-hand not only what others are already selling, but what is coming up and staying abreast of developing industry directions and trends. Exhibitors like us get the opportunity to showcase our vision of the future, while receiving valuable feedback from key players and clients in the industry. Not often do you get a chance like this to get in front of the quality people that the show attracts.

maInLInE SEcUrItY prODUctS: After becoming an ASIAL member back in 1986, it was always my goal to help launch a security exhibition for ASIAL members and security companies to showcase their products and services to the industry. After visiting the ISC West in USA on a regular basis, I knew it would be a great idea for ASIAL to get involved just like ISC West had been. With the support of some very active ASIAL members, I encouraged the association to organise and facilitate the exhibition, which has been well supported by the entire security industry over the last 30 years. I have always enjoyed participating in the Security Exhibition; it is a great time to meet up with your clients and your competitors alike. It is also a prime opportunity to show new products that your clients and competitors may not have seen yet.

EXHIbItOr Q&a could you tell us more about the trends you’ve seen come and go over the years at the show?

cr kEnnEDY:

nESS cOrpOratIOn:

30 years ago, the industry was small and very specialised, and totally analogue. These days we all know the industry is simply a part of the IT world. This has been a major challenge to us all, but we seem to have adapted successfully.

Trends are forever evolving, but the same trends in some form come in waves and stages. In the last few years, there’s been an emphasis on CCTV technology and there’s been a raft of changes in that field and control system have taken a backseat. We see intrusion alarm systems taking centre stage this year and definitely for the next few years, especially with the inclusion of automation technology. CCTV technology has received great exposure in the last few years and there have been great advances in high-definition technology and IP cameras.

maGnEtIc aUtOmatIOn: It has moved towards electronic security rather than physical perimeter security, however the current political climate has shifted to place high importance on physical security. There is a greater demand for customised solutions and integration of products into existing access systems and we have found particularly since last year, that there is now a greater interest in pedestrian security.

LEDa SEcUrItY prODUctS: The Security Exhibition in its early days was very centred on CCTV, alarms and electronics. It has diversified greatly which has been a great trend that has attracted a more diverse exhibitor and visitor base.

tell us about the new products you will feature at this year’s security exhibition?

cr kEnnEDY:

nESS cOrpOratIOn:

Dallmeier is launching their third generation of Panomera ultra high resolution cameras. Unlike other high megapixel systems, this latest generation performs incredibly well in low light. Plus Uniview will be launching in Australia, this is one of the top three brands in China and will have a phenomenal range of CCTV products on show fresh from IFSEC UK.

This year we’re doing something completely different – a next-generation control system with automation technology. Automation has been the big winner and probably the saviour for monitoring companies in the United States like ADT which have been brought back from the brink. The new platform has built-in home automation features like Z-Wave, a mesh network and wireless protocol. It’s a simple device that connects to any appliance which you can program and control — anything from door locks to lighting controls.

maInLInE SEcUrItY prODUctS: Predominantly only our latest products will be on display at the show. We’ll be introducing the MiVISION range of CCTV products including 4K resolution IP cameras and NVRs and HD-CVI the next level of HD over coax. Alongside our new generation of integrated security alarm home automation and access control systems incorporating hardwire 16Z system that can be expanded up to 64 zones supports by user friendly App.

38

SEaDan SEcUrItY & ELEctrOnIcS: This year Seadan’s product offering will be dedicated to CCTV. As the exclusive distributor of Dahua branded products, our large focus will be on Dahua CCTV cameras and NVRs such as the unique HDCVI technology, 4K technology, thermal technology as well as IP. We’ll also be showcasing Pelco by Schneider Electric.

15-17 JULY 2015

EXHIbItOr Q&a What do you think is on the horizon for the australasian security industry in the next 5 years?

cr kEnnEDY:

maInLInE SEcUrItY prODUctS:

HD 1080P is pretty much standard for CCTV these days, short term there will be some competition between the various formats such as SDI, but longer term IP will be the ultimate winner. Like all industries affected by technology convergence, the hardware will become commoditised so the focus will be on providing unique security and surveillance solutions to the market.

The coming years will be very exciting indeed. In access control, although it is here already, the IP function will be further developed in products and utilizing IP functionality will become standard with an in-built feature on most access control products. Electric wireless locks will be utilized by a lot more in mainstream access control manufacturer’s products as is already noticeable overseas. These locks are making installations simpler as they have a card reader and or PIN/card reader built-in as a standalone lock, they can also be utilised with other mainstream access control systems. The use of Cloud services will greatly expand, this will be in all types of security products, including CCTV and access as well as alarms for ease of access from anywhere. There will be more innovative IP Intercom solutions. IP Intercom will be more prominent for offices, in buildings, apartments and homes. Although a lot of these types of products have already been released to the market in the past, it is one of the product types that will be further developed in the future and more innovative products like this will be released in the coming years.

LEDa SEcUrItY prODUctS: Leda has lived through the security industry in the last 20 years. In terms of anti-terror equipment we see particularly government and infrastructure clients now moving to higher international standards. Many years ago the threat environment allowed for lower engineered solutions of (HVM) Hostile Vehicle Mitigation equipment. The threat environment has changed in Australia and the security requirements are of a much higher standard in terms of engineering, product and installation.

maGnEtIc aUtOmatIOn: We anticipate seeing a stronger architectural influence over product specifications whilst national security concerns require that products are rated to an external certification system (eg PAS, crash testing, SCEC, etc).

SEaDan SEcUrItY & ELEctrOnIcS:

security requirements are of a much higher standard

A definite move towards IP cameras in CCTV as well as the convergence of technology around access control, intercoms and cameras.
