2nd secondary 2013-2014 Escola mare de DĂŠu del Carme



First term: Unit 1: The compositions below are different versions of the same figure using three different elements: silhouette, Outline and Dintorno:



Students create a free composition combining different elements,shapes and STEREOTYPED colours.




For this third work the pupils include various features that can transmit different visual and tactile sensation withtextures.





UNIT 2 : Pupils make different compositions using pieces of coloured paper to transmit a different communicative purpose, They use the LAW OF PERCEPTION:




Lines can also add very expressive effects, pupils use wire in this composition to create a single composition.


UNIT 3 Pupils created their colour wheel using saturated gouache painting and wax crayons.



Pupils use primary, secondary and tertiary pure colours and gradually add white to decrease the SATURATION level of the colour and increase its VALUE, Then they add black in the inner series, to decrease its saturation level as well as its value.



Second term: Unit 4: Compositions with tiles : Students repeated the same pattern on the cardboard.



Regular polygons: Students drew a Star-shaped polygon .




Unit 5: Pupils obtained a regular polyhedra cut-out unfolding its faces into a planar pattern.



In this second work pupils used shiny paper to create their symmetrical composition.



Students created harmonic and balanced flowers using central simmetry.





Chiaroscuro: The expressive capacity of an image may change depending on light and shadow. Pupils drew the same object, using light and shadow tecniques depending on the light source.

Unit 6: Technical drawing




Third term: Unit 7: In this unit we have studied the visual language. in this first work, we've drawn the same image by changing the degree oficonicity.




For this second drawing sheet we've studied the difference between objective and subjective images. We've used resources such as: Changing colour, texture, dimension, point of view....





In this third work , we created an identifying label or a bookplate. We included those personal preferences, hobbies, sports that define us.




Unit 8: In this second unit: The language and the visual communication, students have first analyzed the language and the visual codes and then they applied what they had studied in the realization of an advertisement:



After this first work the students have related the meaning of words with visual codes :



Then they worked the added meaning of the expressive values:


UNIT 9 In our last unit, pupils have been working with Photography, new technologies and cinema: For this work they have been using GIMP a GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software , and pupils have used it for photo retouching.
