Calendar Math is a fun and interactive way to practice foundational math skills each and every day! Easily track and explore calendar elements while practicing different math standards. Each day, students will get the opportunity to work with developmentallyappropriate essential skills like: one-to-one correspondence, number sentences, place value, collecting and analyzing data, solving word problems, money, number bonds, representation of numbers, and more!

Best Practices Instructional Format: Calendar Math is designed to be completed whole group, with a teacher or student-leader modeling for the class as an interactive whiteboard activity. However, like all Seesaw Lessons, Calendar Math is flexible and can be assigned for students to complete independently as well! Encourage students to complete their assignment for the day and save as a Draft in order to work on each page throughout the week.

How to Use: The first three to four slides of each activity will be reviewed every day. These slides consist of the month, weather and number of days in school. Then, complete two of the remaining slides each day to practice additional foundational math skills that rotate each day and slowly increase in rigor each month. Spiraling Practice: Calendar Math activities are designed as a spiral to reinforce previously-learned concepts, provide students with opportunities to gain confidence and fluency in various skills, and integrate new concepts and learning.
