Create your own myths and stories with Mythmaker, a collection writing projects. Each lesson is a stand-alone, incomplete folktale s adventurer. Students will complete each character’s story by using the power and magic of the Seesaw Creative Tools to add details and illustrations to the story, then use those details to write their own ending.

Best Practices

Bypass writer's block. Model and have students complete the Intro: How to Write This Book activity as a class for the first lesson. Demonstrate how to drag each layer to engage with the character and story development scaffolds.

Flexible implementation. Students can write complete books as a whole class, with partners, or independently. If writing as a class, leverage student input to drag the shapes before collaboratively or independently writing the conclusion.

Authentic writing purpose and audience. Each Mythmaker lesson results in a completed, shareable book. Students can celebrate their publishing by sharing their books with classmates, family members, and neighboring classrooms. Consider asking students to share story drafts with the whole class for revising and editing.
