Lifegate Lady Falcons Win TCAL 1A Regional Championship, Boys Take Third

(Corpus Christi) — The Lifegate Christian Lady Falcon Basketball team took home the regional championship in the Texas Christian Athletic League Class 1A Region IV playoffs, while the boys team placed third on Saturday in Corpus Christi.

The Lifegate girls went 2-0 Friday and Saturday in the tournament, blasting Anapolis Christian 42-10 on Friday and then blowing past Trinity Christian 63-22 on Saturday. With the win, Lifegate improves to 18-3 overall on the season. Lady Falcon Lyna Cavazos was named to the all tournament team.

The Lifegate boys fell 63-58 to Town East Christian on Friday to finish in third place. Rowe Hansen from Lifegate was awarded the all tournament medal for the varsity boys team. The Falcons have a 9-14 overall record this season.

Both the Lifegate girls and boys teams advance to the TCAL state tournament. The tournament starts on Thursday.
