He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son and numerous close friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Venave Ivy Ranft and their 5 children, Deborah Ranft, Cynthia Riebe (James), Kevin Ranft (Jamie), Brent Ranft, Stephen Ranft (Jenifer) and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As well as his siblings Larry Ranft, Joan Bowman (Mark), Mindy
Walden, numerous in-laws, relatives and friends.
While many knew him for his diligent appliance repair, many more knew he was dedicated to teaching
God’s Word to any who wanted to learn. He was loved for his generous, outgoing personality and helpful disposition. He was known for using the Bible to “set things

Carolyn Zillmann Schultze, age 81 of Seguin, passed away on February 17, 2023. Carolyn was born on November 18, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas to Nelda Marie (Wolter) and Walter George Zillmann. She was a life-long member of Redeemer Church in Zuehl.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Schultze and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Brietzke and husband Larry; son, Douglas Jones; grandchildren, Megan Brietzke, Hunter Brietzke and wife Amy, Matthew Jones and Nicholas Jones; great-grandchildren, Kinnidi Schneider and Karcyn Schneider; sister, Vivian Wilson; brother, the Rev. Lee Zillmann and wife Sharon; niece, Laura Allison; other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Jennifer Gold officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Marion.

He will be remembered for those qualities and his hard work in serving to promote God’s will here on earth. We are confident that the words found in Nehemiah 5:19, “do remember me favorably, O my God, for all that I have done in behalf of this people” can be said with Jim in mind. We know sometime in the near future, we will once again see his broad smile, hear his booming voice singing wholeheartedly and feel his warm embrace as he begins to engage us in conversation over a shared meal.
His memorial service will be held in person at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1367 Eastwood Dr Seguin TX 78155 on February 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm. George William Start, age 90 of Seguin, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2023 at Windsor Nursing Home in Seguin. George was born on December 4, 1932 in Burr Oak, Michigan to Kathryn (Wert) and Howard W. Start.
George retired from the State of Michigan Civil Rights Department in 1988. He and his wife Isabel (Izzy) moved to Seguin, Texas where his second career was in professional photography. He and Izzy worked together as C & S Photography and were prominently known for their photographing of many weddings and civic events throughout Seguin and surrounding communities until 2008.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Isabel “Izzy” Cabello Start (d. 2015), his parents.
Survivors include his sons, Gary Start and Larry Start; daughter, Connie Hepler; sister, Alice Palmer; special caregivers and friends, Karen Rust and Betsy Roof; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
At George’s request there will be no funeral services.

Celebration of Life Services for Destiney Bond will be held Thursday the 23rd of February at 11AM from the Eunice and Lee Mortuary Chapel with Interment in the Marion Cemetery. She died at the age of 22 and is survived by her mother, Latanya Bond,siblings,Simone,Lunden,Charles Jr.,and Paris Bond. Services entrusted to the reverent care of Eunice and Lee Mortuary.

Maria B. Luna was called Home to the Lord on February 14, 2023 at the age of 87. She was born on October 22, 1935 to Maria (Salazar) and Federico Bencomo in Seguin, Texas.
Maria was a hardworking woman. She was employed at Holly Farms for many years, in addition to several other jobs. She enjoyed going dancing in her younger days with her husband and other couples.
Maria loved her children deeply. She went out of her way to be sure they came home to hot meals even when her children were grown, married, and no longer living at home. She was a God-fearing woman and prayed for God to watch over her children and their families.
Mom will be deeply missed but we are left with the comfort and confidence that she has arrived to Heaven where she will sing and dance once again in the company of he loved ones that are joyful to welcome her in heaven.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Federico and Maria; sons, Guadalupe B. Luna, Jr., Henry B. Luna (Christina Luna, surviving) and daughter, Lucia L. Gallegos (David Gallegos, surviving).
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 70 years of marriage, Guadalupe M. Luna; children, David B. Luna and fiancé, Anita Mindieta, Gloria Gallegos (late husband Robert), and Angie Torres and husband Frank. 26 grandchildren, 60 greatgrandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren on the way; sister, Virginia Contreras; half-sisters, Olivia Jackson, Ofelia Ybanez as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be at Palmer Mortuary on February 22, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating.
Continued visitation will be on February 23, 2023 beginning at 8:00 a.m. a funeral procession will depart the funeral home chapel to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery.
