Funeral arrangements are pending for Jerome Joseph Crenshaw at Eunice and Lee Mortuary who died February 28,2023 at the age of 31. He is survived by his mother, Jackie Crenshaw.

Aubrey Ervin Steubing, age 79 of Seguin, passed away on March 5, 2023. Aubrey was born on October 8, 1943 in Kingsbury, Texas to Edna Martha (Knetsch) and Aubrey C. Steubing.

Aubrey is preceded in death by his wife whom he married on July 13, 1963, Jeanette Lee Flynn Steubing, son, Jason William Steubing, sisters, Pearl Esther Steubing, Nancy Gallagher and husband Carl, and Dalie Magee, brother-inlaw, Gary Chiles, sister-in-law, Betty Meckel and devoted friend, Mary Joyce Hassell.

Survivors include his children, Clay Steubing, and Jenny Ward and husband Glenn; daughterin-law, Revenia Steubing; grandchildren, JulieAnn Greenfield and husband Adrian, Daniel Steubing and Serenity Rose Steubing; great-grandchildren, Victoria Greenfield and Brooklyn Greenfield; siblings, Francis Steubing and wife Kathy, Margaret Svatek and husband Tom, Caroline Cloud and husband R. B., Thomas Steubing and wife Nita, and Julie Chiles; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Meckel, and Sonny Flynn and wife Janet; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

Dr. Ferrer: The Pandemic Is Not Over

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Los Angeles County health leaders are reminding Angelenos -- while emergency declarations on COVID-19 are about to end -- they still need to take precautions. County Health Director Barbara Ferrer [[ furr-ARR ]] said her department is acutely aware that the pandemic is not over and that there are people within the county who continue to feel the hardships of COVID-19 every day. The L.A. County Board of Supervisors agreed to end the region’s COVID emergency declarations at the end of this month. But supervisors also made it clear -- the move does not mean the virus no longer poses a threat.

NYC Mayor Adams Wants Shoppers To Pull Down Their Masks

(New York, NY) -- Mayor Eric Adams is calling on shoppers to pull down their masks when entering a store in New York City. Adams made the comments on a number of news outlets this morning when discussing efforts to reduce shoplifting. He didn’t rule out wearing masks, but said shoppers should pull down their masks when first entering a store so their faces could be seen. Adams says shoplifters are wearing masks not because they’re afraid of the pandemic, but they’re afraid of the police.

South Carolina Woman Charged For Unlawful Abortion

(Greenville, SC) -- A South Carolina woman arrested last week is facing charges after allegedly having an unlawful abortion. In 2021, the woman was brought into a hospital where she told staff she had taken abortion medication without medical supervision. She was almost 26 weeks pregnant, which is past the legal limit of 20 weeks in South Carolina. If convicted, the woman faces up to two years in prison and a one-thousand dollar fine.

Elephant Expecting What Will Be An Historic Calf

(Indianapolis, IN) -- An African elephant at the Indianapolis Zoo is expecting and it’s a very big deal. The zoo says the birth will be historic as the calf will be the first elephant in the world born through artificial insemination to a mother also born through artificial insemination. Sixteen-year-old Zahara is 15 months pregnant and due in October of 2023.
