Sweet Home Baptist Church Spring Revival
The Sweet Home Baptist Church will have its Spring Revival at 7 p.m. each night through Thursday, March 9. The guest minister will be Rev. Ernest Powell of Zion Fair Baptist Church of La Vernia.
Seguin Youth Services Charity Golf Tournament
The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Seguin class of 2023 will have its Swing for Seguin Youth Services Charity Golf Tournament at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 9 at the Bandit Golf Course in New Braunfels. The cost for entry is $750 per team of four and includes green fee, cart, range balls, breakfast, lunch, 2 drink tickets, and awards. All proceeds benefit Seguin Youth Services. Celebrate Recovery
The Celebrate Recovery ministry at Crossroads Church meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights at 3455 W. Hwy 90 in Seguin. Celebrate recovery is for anyone dealing with anxiety, alcohol, depression, codependency, unforgiveness, self doubt, addiction, grief, eating disorders, relationships, anger, substance abuse, destructive behavior, spending, stress, and more. Inaugural Juan Seguin Festival del Mariachi Showcase and Master Class
The Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin will offer its Inaugural Juan Seguin Festival del Mariachi Showcase at 7 p.m. Friday, March 10, followed by a Master Class Saturday, March 11. Minigrip will have its Bag Sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 11 at 1088 Freeport Way in Seguin. All proceeds benefit Minigrip’s United Way Campaign.
Noche De Gala de Vocalistas
The Teatro de Artes de Juan Seguin will have its Noche De Gala de Vocalistas at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 11 in Jackson Auditorium on the Campus of Texas Lutheran University. Tickets are $10 in advance and at the door. Tickets are available at the Seguin Heritage Museum located at 114 N. Austin St. (Tuesday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Teartro’s Cultural Center, located at 921 W. New Braunfels St. (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.). Create a Garden Worm Two-Day Class
The Seguin Art League will have a Create a Garden Worm Two-Day Class, for adults 14 or older, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 11 and Saturday, March 25 at 104 S. Austin St. in Seguin. The class will teach you how to make a garden worm to accessorize your plants and a pinch pot to enjoy your favorite beverage or snack. Volunteer Van Drivers Needed
Guadalupe County Veteran Services Office is in great need of volunteer van drivers. Even those who can only commit to one day per month. Volunteers will drive local veterans who have no transportation to their VA medical appointments in San Antonio. To volunteer, call 830-303-4188 ext. 1249.
CCSCT Releases Utility Assistance Application for 2023
Applications are available for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (C.E.A.P.) provided by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs through the CCSCT. The program will help low-income consumers reduce their utility bills. There is also assistance available through the Low Income Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). Discover Rocks Program
The Guadalupe Master Naturalists will present its “Discover Rocks” Program from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Monday, March 13 at the Seguin Public Library. Staggered start times will allow pre-k through 4th grade children and their parents or accompanying adult to rotate to various learning stations. Participants will use their senses of vision, touch, smell, taste, and hearing to make observations of different rock types.
Retired School Personnel Meeting
The Seguin-Guadalupe County Retired School Personnel will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14 at the Faith Lutheran Church, located at 1326 E. Cedar St. in Seguin. All retired public school district personnel are welcome to attend and join the Association.
Native Plant Society Meeting
The Guadalupe Chapter of the Native Plant Society will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14 at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 1121 E. Walnut St. in Seguin. Parking will be in the rear of the church and you can enter from N. Moss St. The presenter will be Master Beekeeper, Mark de Kiewiet on the cycle and seasonal interaction between climate, plants, and bees. ALICE Training
The Southwest Preparatory School will be hosting Active Shooter Response Certification Training (ALICE Training) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March
14 and Wednesday, March 15 at the Main Building, located at 6535 Culebra Rd. in San Antonio. This certification is a 2-day train the trainer class on civilian, active shooter response options to enable you to empower others to survive violence. The Seguin Young Professionals of the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce will have a Lunch and Learn from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at Court Street Coffee. Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
The Knights of Columbus will have a Fish Fry from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 17 at the Columbus Club, located at 1015 S. Austin St. in Seguin. Plates include fish and three sides for $12 and will be available to go or dine-in.
