Confirmed Coronavirus Cases Jump Over 6,000

80% Of Coronavirus Spreads From People Who Don't Know They're Sick

(Undated) -- The coronavirus outbreak is hitting a new milestone. The number of confirmed cases in the U.S. has jumped over the six-thousand mark. The death toll from the illness has also surpassed 100. Every state has at least one case after West Virginia reported its first on Tuesday. The biggest hotspots are in New York, Washington state and California.

(Undated) -- Researchers say people who don't know they have the coronavirus could be spreading most of the infection. Epidemic specialists created a mathematical model based on data from China, where the outbreak started. They found that nearly 80-percent of confirmed cases were transmitted by people who weren't diagnosed because they had only mild, limited, or no symptoms. The researchers believe that helps explain why the virus is spreading so rapidly worldwide.

Washington Governor Asks Older People To Self-Isolate

US, China Continue War Of Words Over Coronavirus Spread, Origin

(Olympia, WA) -- Governor Jay Inslee is asking Washington residents 60 years and older, especially with underlying health conditions, to self-isolate if possible during the coronavirus pandemic. Retail stores are closed unless they can operate with strict criteria for hygiene and social distancing. Inslee says social distancing is our only weapon against coronavirus right now. Washington has had more deaths than any other state.

WORLD-CLASS HEALTHCARE Close to home.

(Washington, DC) -- The U.S. and China are continuing their war of words over the spread and origin of the coronavirus. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday lit into a top Chinese diplomat for what Washington sees as China's attempt to shift blame for the spread of the virus. China's state broadcaster reported the Chinese diplomat told Pompeo the U.S. won't succeed in what China calls attempts to smear the country's efforts to control the coronavirus. The U.S. and other nations have criticized China for at first trying to censor doctors who sounded the alarm about the virus that surfaced late last year in central China.
