First wave of stimulus deposits go out

that by Wednesday, tens of millions of Americans should already have their checks in the bank. The people getting their checks are the ones who filed tax returns in 2018 or 2019 and received funds through direct deposit. Any paper checks should go out starting early May. People who didn't file taxes, are very low income or are older and don't need to file a tax return will have to wait a little longer for their money. (Washington, DC) -- The IRS is officially sending out stimulus checks. The agency announced that the first wave of checks are currently now being deposited. The checks are also known as the Economic Impact Payment or coronavirus stimulus check. IRS officials stated that they "know many people are anxious to get

their payments" and say they will continue "issuing them as fast as we can." The average American who made less than $75,000 can expect to receive $1,200. Families will also get $500 for each child. Many folks began seeing their checks on Monday. However, IRS officials say

Officials say the IRS is also currently creating a web portal where users can track their stimulus check. That tracker is expected to be launched this Friday. The distributions are part of a $2.2 trillion dollar economic package passed by Congress last month.

COVID-19 economic impact payment information being shared for social security and SSI residents Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul provides new guidance about economic impact payments (Seguin) -- To help bring relief to folks faster, The Treasury Department has launched a new web tool allowing quick registration for Economic Impact Payments for eligible individuals who do not normally file a tax return, and also announced that it would begin making automatic payments. However, for some people receiving benefits from the Social Security Administration--specifically those who have dependent children under the age of 17--it is to their advantage to go to this portal to ensure they also get the $500 per dependent Economic Impact Payment. That's according to Social Commissioner Andrew Saul .

payment. If Social Security beneficiaries in this group do not provide their information to the IRS soon, he says they will have to wait to receive their $500 per qualifying child. The same new guidance also applies to SSI recipients, especially those who have qualifying children under age 17. To receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payments you and your family are eligible for, go to the IRS’s NonFilers: Enter Payment Info page at www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impactpayments and provide information about yourself and your qualifying children.

Security

He says people who receive Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability insurance benefits and who did not file a tax return for 2018 or 2019 and who have qualifying children under age 17 should now go to the IRS’s webpage at www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impactpayments to enter their information instead of waiting for their automatic $1,200 Economic Impact Payment. He says by taking proactive steps to enter information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to their $1,200 individual

Additionally, any new beneficiaries since January 1, 2020, of either Social Security or SSI benefits, who did not file a tax return for 2018 or 2019, will also need to go to the IRS’s Non-Filers website to enter their information. Lastly, for Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability beneficiaries who do not have qualifying children under age 17, Commissioner Saul says they do not need to take any action with the IRS. He says they'll automatically receive their $1,200 economic impact payment directly from the IRS as long as they received an SSA1099 for 2019.

GVEC donates $10,000 to GRMF’s campaign to fund GRMC Women’s Imaging Center (Seguin) – GVEC recently donated $10,000 to the Guadalupe Regional Medical Foundation (GRMF) for the Women’s Imaging Center to be built this year at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center (GRMC).

patients, their families, and the patient’s referring physician,” said Bennett. As for GVEC, Darren Schauer, the company’s CEO and general manager, says the power company recognizes what a significant asset the new facility will be. “Making advanced women’s health care services easily and locally accessible through GRMC’s Women’s Imaging Center will be a great benefit to the area,” said Schauer. “GVEC relates to GRMF and GRMC’s objective to ensure services that improve quality of life are available to the communities both of our organizations have the privilege of serving.”

GRMF supports GRMC as it aims to provide comprehensive health care to the citizens of Seguin and surrounding communities. This includes ensuring availability of top-notch medical technology to the patients that GRMC serves. GRMF’s fundraising campaign for the Women’s Imaging Center has raised $375,000 of its $500,000 goal so far, and it is expecting to raise the remaining amount needed to meet its mark soon. That’s according to GRMF CEO Elaine Bennett. Though GRMC currently offers updated imaging technology such as 3D mammography and stereotactic biopsies, Bennett says the creation of the new Women’s Imaging Center will provide a greater opportunity to add to the spectrum of care. “Seguin and its surrounding counties continue to grow at a fast pace. GRMC is the recognized hub of high quality and comprehensive health care for this population of over 100,000. The new Women’s Center will provide a one-stop convenient and comfortable center to ensure we continue to care for all the women of our region with sophisticated diagnostics technology. Early

Plans for the Women’s Imaging Center - to be built adjacent to the GRMC’s existing Imaging Department -- are almost complete. However, Bennett says the construction which was projected to begin in May could possibly be postponed. “The COVID-19 situation is currently our top priority and may delay the construction,” said Bennett. “In any case, our plan is to have the new center completed by end of the calendar year.” GVEC is a progressive cooperative specializing in the delivery of products and services to people and communities in the Guadalupe Valley. Coronavirus Deaths Pass 22-thousand

Expert Says May Maybe Too Ambitious Reopening Date

(Undated) -- The death toll from the coronavirus in the U.S. continues to climb. Over 22-thousand Americans have passed away from the respiratory illness. New York City has been the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S. with over 68-hundred deaths. In the U.S., there have been over 555-thousand cases of coronavirus, far more than any other country in the world. The U.S. is also making progress in testing with tests administered to nearly three-million people.

(Seattle, WA) -- It may be longer than a few weeks before the nation can begin to reopen. On CBS Face the Nation, Director for the Institute of Health Metrics at the University of Washington Dr. Christopher Murray said West Coast states are further along in the coronavirus pandemic. Washington state has been successful in flattening the curve but Murray added there needs to be multiple weeks of closures after the peak of the curve to prevent a second wave of cases. Dr. Murray says there is a high risk of rebound if the country opens as a whole on May 1st like President Trump hopes, but says maybe some states could start to open by mid-May.

Dr. Fauci Says The U.S. Is Turning A Corner

Johns Hopkins Dr: More Testing Needed Before Reopening Country

(Washington, DC) -- The U.S. leads the world in the number of coronavirus deaths. On CNN's State of the Union Dr. Anthony Fauci [[ FOW-chee ]] said the country is turning a corner in terms of hospitalizations and ventilator intubations. Fauci, a key member of the White House task force on COVID-19, added they don't want to be premature in easing up on social distancing. He said it depends on where you live in the county and how the outbreak is developing there, but some cities may be able to get back to work by as early as next month. Dr. Fauci cautioned, "It's not one size fits all."

WORLD-CLASS CARE Close to home.

(Undated) -- A top doctor from the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security says May 1st is too soon to reopen the country. Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Dr. Tom Inglesby said the curve needs to be in a clear downslope before things can get back to normal and the plateau could carry on for a while. Inglesby said the U.S. would be in a better position if the country acted sooner. He said the key to reopening the country is universal testing and that earlier diagnostic testing would have helped the U.S. to peak sooner.
