Local teenager releases new single plus music video Elle Brightly takes latest step toward stardom

everything that has happened since.

By Cindy Aguirre-Herrera

(Seguin) – Get ready to hit play and listen as Seguin’s next big star comes to life with her new hit music single “Figure It Out.” It has been a year and half since Ellery Twitero, a.k.a. Elle Brightly, has been traveling on this road toward stardom. Tonight, Brightly’s newest single drops on all music download and streaming platforms. Her mother Angela Twitero says at the start of it all, her daughter had no previous experience just the passion to pursue a career in music. It was then that her daughter relied on that passion to successfully get through a series of online and in-studio auditions to land herself a spot with an all youth music group being coordinated by an England talent company. Twitero says despite auditioning and being selected for this England company, the family chose to turn down the opportunity. She says the family, led by Brightly, just could not commit to the six months that was required to live in England. However, her mother says it’s what

happened afterward that has really driven her daughter’s music career. She says after that first experience, Brightly went

on to release her first single “You Got Me.” She says that single plus its music video was no doubt the springboard to

"The beauty of all of that was, that first song and video got her a lot of attention. The Voice, the producers from The Voice called and wanted her to come audition for The Voice. They let her skip the prelim audition stuff and brought her straight in the studio in Los Angeles. She auditioned and the judges took time with her and ended up telling her that 13 was just too young at that point they felt and so they wanted her to possibly come back if that was something she wanted to do but getting something like that straight out of the gate was really amazing and then this producer that she is working with now. His name is Alex Cantrall and he does the music producing for Disney and Nickelodeon and a lot of those shows but his daughter is Kylie Cantrall and she's one of the new Disney stars and Alex brought her in to kind of do this test single and see how it goes. I think that he's hoping that he is going to be able to launch this song into some type of placement in television or movie or TV series but also that it will gain her attention for management so that's kind of where we are now," said Twitero. Independent film starring Seguin native to hit TVs today

In her promotion of the film, Meehan writes, “What is it to live without society to make and enjoy art, entertainment, friendship. We didn’t mean to release it in the middle of a pandemic, but here we are.”

By Cindy Aguirre-Herrera

(Seguin) – Being at home with a remote in our hands could not have come at a better time for one Seguin native who is promoting tonight’s digital release of her award-winning independent film, “A Room Full of Nothing.”

"It's an apropos of what's going on right now. It's a very relevant movie we think about being a little bit in solitude, about being with your companion, the one you love and the relationship that comes from that so none of this was planned although, it does work out for our benefit of being able to have people stay at home, stay safe and get a chance to watch we hope is an entertaining film," said Meehan.

Ivy Koehler Meehan, the lead actress in the film, says the project which started nearly three years ago garnered recognition in handful of film festivals, culminating with today’s release on various streaming services. "About a year ago, we premiered in Los Angeles and less than a week later, we got a call from a sales agent who basically how films work whenever they go to festival is you want to get sales agent, you want to get a distributor so that more people can see your movie. With big time movies with big time stars, a lot of times that goes to a theatrical release and for smaller independent films usually that means a DVD release or what we are doing, a digital release and thankfully because of the time that we live in, digital releases are kind of becoming the norm with streaming services like Netflix and Amazon and iTunes and things like that. So especially with the times we live in right now, it is great to be able to find a new film. A lot of big time production companies are putting a lot of films that were supposed to come out theatrically this spring and summer, now they are putting them on streaming services and encouraging a little bit more than you would for just like an On Demand movie and that's how they are finding their audience," said Meehan. As featured before on the Seguin Daily News, the film is a “sardonic look at

Meehan says she’s excited about today’s release of the film and is grateful to share it with others. "This wasn't planned because of the quarantine. Basically, we are a small film and we were lucky enough to get a sales agent and distributor a year ago, and they've been working to try to get it on platforms the last few months and so we just released our platform list which those platforms will be where you can rent the movie or buy the movie," said Meehan.

the life of artists when they’re fed up with the world around them.” It follows Meehan and Duncan Coe, the leading male actor, as they

“accidentally will away everyone in the world and must manage their sanity in a state of increasing isolation and fractured reality.”

Today’s digital release will include a special one-time only livestream commentary featuring members of the cast and crew. The group will be hosting the virtual watch party today beginning at 7:45 p.m. Steps to join the livestream party are available on the A Room Full of Nothing Facebook and Instagram pages. The follow by pressing play on your TV at 8 p.m. for the movie. The movie can be accessed anytime today on iTunes, Amazon or AT&T Uverse or any other available streaming service of your choice.

was really interesting to be there to see.”

Twitero says this latest venture has been even more exciting for her daughter and looks forward to tonight’s release party.

Despite the message to her peers, Brightly says it’s been created to be a dance song and upbeat. As far as helping produce the song, Brightly says making the music hers is always the most challenging part of the job.

"That's kind of where we are now. She was in L.A. She wrote the song and she is not a songwriter. She's never done that before but she writes a lot of words and versus down and so when she went into work with Alex and they were talking about what the song would be and they were asking what kids her age like to do and that sort of thing and then she said 'we'll I came in with some lyrics to a song' and they said 'let's hear it!' She gave them the lyrics and they said 'that's our song.' It took her about three and a half days in studio (for the song) and then for the music video, we couldn't do what we planned because of COVID so we had to use direction from a distance. She stands in front of the green screen and that is how this new video has been done and actually, I’ve only seen bits and

Trump Outlining Plans For Reopening Economy

White House Guidelines Set Reopening In Three Phases

(Washington, DC) -- President Trump is laying out plans to start opening the economy from coronavirus shutdowns. He explains the White House's plans will be in three phases that will give states step-by-step guidelines to get back to business. He noted that some states will begin to reopen sooner than others. He added that the economy can get restarted again in a "safe and structured" fashion.

(Washington, DC) -- The White House is recommending three phases for states to reopen from coronavirus shutdowns. The guidelines recommend states only start opening after weeks of downward trends in coronavirus patients or folks with similar symptoms. The phases will slowly allow healthy people to stop sheltering, while maintaining some social distancing practices. Eventually, schools can reopen and venues will be able to operate with some distancing protocols. The final phase would lift stay-at-home requirements for folks who are considered vulnerable. At that point, there won't be restrictions for people going to work either.

Trump: Some States Could Start Reopening Immediately (Washington, DC) -- President Trump says some states could start the process of opening back up immediately. He says the states will have to meet requirements outlined in new guidelines, which include metrics for testing and protocols to protect vulnerable populations. States that have seen smaller outbreaks will likely open before hotspot states like New York, New Jersey and California. The President says ultimately, the decision of when to reopen will be up to each state governor.

Coronavirus Deaths Pass 33K in US (Undated) -- The number of coronavirus deaths in the U.S. continues to soar. Over 33thousand Americans have perished from the respiratory illness. Most of those deaths, nearly 12-thousand, have been in New York City. Across the U.S., over 671-thousand people have been infected with COVID-19. But there's some good news, over 56-thousand people have recovered. Around the world, over two-million people have been infected with more than 144thousand deaths.
