Christian Cupboard in dire need of food DONATIONS

(Seguin) – Food donations are needed today over at the Christian Cupboard.

Regina Lee heads up the non-profit food pantry and is calling on all residents to help restock its shelves. She says an uptick in clients this past week has them scrambling for food.

“In two days, 114 people and so that’s kind of unusual so that’s a lot of people and you didn’t anticipate those two days being that busy so if you can imagine if the numbers keep up like that, no this, no that – no tuna, no mac and cheese, no canned chicken, a lot of things we were out of. The milk and eggs – we can kind of adjust with that because we do purchase that weekly,” said Lee.

Lee says the public call for donations will help the cupboard as it struggles to get through the remainder of this month.

“We are really out of vegetables, a lot of things at this point. People donate all the time. So, I’m asking Seguin to step up and get up and get out and show out and help me supply till the end of month. We are expecting a large truck but it’s at the end of the month and it’s not even the 10th so we are going to be scuffing until we get to this large truck,” said Lee.

Lee says a growing community means more people and hopes the community continues to give year-round.
