(Seguin) – Guadalupe County’s appreciation for all veterans will be unveiled this week.

Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher says he’s proud to announce the official opening of the newly constructed Veterans Outreach Center this Wednesday. The center is located at the old Seguin Hospital and former Head Start building at 205 E. Weinert St.

Kutscher says for years, the county has envisioned this facility that will offer specialized services and resources to veterans in not only Guadalupe County but surrounding communities.

“The project really was a conceptual idea that took place around 2018. We had a small group of veterans that participated in some programs in Guadalupe County that actually came up with the idea of just trying to provide more convenient and efficient services, so we planned for more multiple years, came up with a conceptual design and then started looking for funding and now we finally got to the point of construction and completion,” said Kutscher.

Kutscher says the overall idea was to provide veteran services all under one roof, especially for those who find it challenging to travel out of town for many of these same services. Opening, pg. 3
