Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin invites you to join its family Early registration set for today

(Seguin) -- Today is another opportunity to become part of a 40-year legacy in Seguin.

Registration is now underway for the 2023-2024 Ballet Folklórico De La Rosa and Mariachi Juan Seguin Program. Organizers say classes will fill up fast, so individuals are asked to take advantage of this last day for early registration.

Ballet Folklórico De La Rosa registers dancers ages 5 to 99 while the Mariachi Juan Seguin registers musicians 7 to 99. No previous experience necessary. Group officials say they pride themselves in welcoming anyone who want to learn about Mexican American culture, traditions, customs, knowledge, celebrations. Monthly tuition is $30. Packets can be completed during registration or emailed to teatrodeartes@gmail.com. Registration will be held today from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Teatro’s Cultural Arts Center located at 921 W. New Braunfels St.

“We did establish some funding last year of about $300,000 to start that replacement project for the playground area. This would be supplemental funding. To do everything we want to do, I know we are close to $500,000 in need so we will work on some funding during the budget, but this is also something that is also important because we can do more and more with this,” said Parker.

Jones adds, “the community of Seguin came together in 1995 to build the Kids Kingdom Playscape with their own hands. Today, we are asking residents to use their ‘fingers’ and vote daily in support of this grant effort.” to that playground and plan on new pieces of equipment,” said Jones.
