Celebrating 10 years of Promisedland missions to Nigeria This is our 10th year of annual missions to Nigeria and taking ownership of our nation as our inheritance. This has led us on a discovery of what God has blessed us with (see 36 quick facts). We all must discover the purposes we are here for, what we have been blessed with, and boldly face the challenges preventing Nigeria from reaching its potential, using our gifts and talents. Up to date, we have run various seminars in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Kwara, Kogi, Edo, and Delta states. Our most recent seminars were in Bayelsa, Rivers, Abia, Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Nasarawa States, in 2015. God has invested much in our nation through the tremendous gifts and abilities he placed in people. He also blessed Nigeria with natural and agricultural resources, industries, and a beautiful tropical climate. We hope that pastors, community leaders, and the youth will be inspired through our seminars and workshops, to see the great potential in the nation as God sees it, and be ready to believe for its release, through fervent prayers and sheer hard work.
We believe it would take the collaborative effort of Nigerians living abroad with their exposure to newer and more effective ways of doing things, with the longstanding values and traditions of those living at home, to effectively change the nation. The two groups must begin to discuss how to rebuild the different parts of “the wall” that have broken down in various communities throughout the entire 36 States of Nigeria. We also hope this magazine will inspire you to take your steps of faith as you see people like yourselves all around the country, who dare to believe and trust God for the transformation of our great nation. This is our invitation to you, your family and friends to join us and take an active part in rebuilding Nigeria. This is a 10-minute video and seven-point teaching on Nehemiah and Workshop for pastors and community leaders to learn how to transform their communities through prayers and by calling others up, to serve with their gifts and talents, to meet the needs of their community.
Promisedland Marriage Seminar is a 13-topic teaching for married couples and single adults, based on Married for Life studies by 2=1 International. Families are foundational to a community. Godly marriages support Godly families that make up Godly communities, that in turn make a Godly nation.
Topics covered are: Commitment, Prayer and Fasting, Identifying Sources of Spiritual Oppression, Building Up the Church, and Building Up the Community. Transformation seminars end with a workshop and discussion session, to develop strategies for the rebuilding of each community and how to implement them.
Some of the topics covered are Covenant, One Flesh, Roles, Sowing and Reaping, Forgiveness, Faith Vision and Trust, Praying Together, Agreement, Flowing Together in the Spirit, Intimacy, Spiritual Warfare, Life patterns, One-Flesh Ministry. By teaching leaders how to live out their faith in God in their homes, rather than succumb to traditional standards of marriage that do not line up with the word of God, they can then teach others how to build their marriages God’s way, to build a stronger community.

Promisedland Leadership Seminars is a 10-point teaching to help train pastors, workers and leaders, based on The Character of a Leader by John Maxwell. It discusses how to identify and develop individuals into Godly leaders, and release them into society to be effective in their calling.
This is a seminar and workshop based on the book Discovering Your Motivational Gifts by Don & Katie Fortune, for youth in high school, college or university, to teach them how to discover their motivational gifts and establish a Godly direction in their lives, so that they would become Godly leaders in the future. Some of the topics include a study of the gifts found in The Book of Romans—administration, exhortation, compassion, giving, perception, serving, and teaching.
Leaders exert much influence over the future of a nation. Therefore, it is essential to establish Godly leadership, not only within families, but in institutions, churches, communities, and the nation as a whole. The Leadership seminars challenge leaders to develop Godly character, as found in the word of God.
Seminars end with a workshop and discussion session, where strategies are developed on how to use their gifts constructively at home, school, and within the community throughout the seasons of their lives.

All lasting transformations start from a place of prayer. Promisedland prayer seminars for pastors and leaders on how to build a church community that prays.
Promisedland financial seminars for pastors and leaders on how to transform their finances by rebuilding it on the word of God and teaching others to recognise and live by God’s financial principles to turn their personal finances and the economy of their communities around.
The prayer seminar is based on teachings from Battle Ready: building a church community that prays by Titi Olude, and the topics include Getting Started, What is Prayer, Pray Like Jesus, God-Centred Prayer, Getting Ready for Battle, Prayer Mission of Your Church, Building a Prayer Ministry, and Prayer Strategies for the Church and Community. Participants will be taught how to identify specific prayer targets in their community, and how to raise prayer groups to pray for God’s intervention in the transformation of their community. By including the community concerns in their prayers, all would benefit when the community is transformed.
The teaching is based on ten Biblical principles for finances found in the study of Biblical Financial Principles by Crown Financial Ministries. Some of the topics covered are, God’s part and our part, Debt, Counsel, Honesty, Giving, Work, Investing, Perspective, Eternity. Individuals learn how to keep proper account and manage their time and resources in a manner worthy of a Christian life, and experience the abundant life that God has promised. During the workshop session, leaders develop their own personal budget and deliberate on how to help rebuild the economy in their community on biblical foundation.

Promisedland professional seminars are knowledge exchange and skills transfer seminar series designed to raise mentors for the exchange of ideas among professionals, teachers students, and entrepreneurs, to make a difference in the lives of their counterparts and aspiring youth.
This seminar is 30 minute slide show presentation, discussion, and workshop for members of Nigerian community abroad, to show the impact of Promisedland seminars and projects in Nigeria, and encourage them use their time and finances to be the difference a community needs, with simple plans they can support. We also use the opportunity to invite those interested to join us on our annual mission trips, or support one of our projects—see pages 8 + 9.
Up to date, ‘Segun has made visual presentation to professionals and student artist in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Kogi, Kwara, Enugu, and Imo States at various design seminars, covering topics like history of visual communications, design principles, design thinking, and rethinking art education in Nigeria. This is an example of how professionals could connect with relevant higher institutions and professional associations to run seminars and workshops, for knowledge exchange.
We believe that those living abroad can provide insight into new ways of dealing with the challenges in our communities, and this is the time to go back and contribute, participate, mentor, teach, encourage and cooperate to rebuild rural communities, especially in their home states.

Providing a well for a community is a way to provide safe drinking water that makes a positive impact on the health and well-being of the whole community.
Providing church supplies for the local church helps them to meet the demands of their congregation and remain a source of encouragement to their community.
Promisedland provides clean water accessible to the whole community by digging new wells, a convenient source of clean water, so that women and children would not have to walk for miles to fetch water from dirty streams.
Promisedland distributes Bibles in English and local languages, training materials, worksheets, writing materials, and copies of this magazine at seminars.

Providing supplies for the schools in rural communities helps to improve the learning environment for the students and impacts the future of the whole community.
Medical supplies save lives and make a huge impact on the health and well-being of the entire community. Many residents are not able to get adequate care from their community clinics, as some clinics are in a state of disrepair.
There is general lack in rural community schools. Promisedland provides schools with essentials like exercise books, desks, chairs and tables for teachers. We also supply swing sets for the playground, and school uniforms for kids who have none.
We provide much needed beds, mattresses, and pillows, chairs, tables, drip-stands, toiletries and medications, including basic essentials for newborns and mothers.

In the footsteps of Nehemiah
Nehemiah saw that the walls of Jerusalem are broken down. His sadness caused the king to take note and give him permision and resources to go and fix the problem. Nehemiah then went to the families and asked them for their participation. That is the mission that we are on, calling families to join in rebuilding broken communities in Nigeria.

As we celebrate our 10th year missions to Nigeria, we are pleased to announce that Promisedland Ministries is now a registered charity in Canada, and Promisedland Charitable Foundation is also a registered charity in Nigeria. Both organizations are now working hand-in-hand to ensure proper supervision and accountability. Evangelist Ayo + Mabel Ajileye After attending a Transformation Seminar in Lagos, Evangelist Ayo Ajileye experienced transformation in his life. He and his wife, Mabel, became an agent of change in his adopted community in Ikorodu, Lagos. Evangelist Ayo joined us on the journey to take the transformation message all over Nigeria. He is running seminars and facilitating community projects in Lagos, Kogi, Edo, Delta, and Bayelsa states, working with pastors in each state. He and his wife have also resurrected the vision that God gave them for marriages and so minister to marriages in the local churches, through Three-Fold Ministries. They have experienced transformation since they started regular prayer meetings for their community—roads that were very bad have been graded; the local government has added six new classrooms to ease over-population at the school; the abandoned community clinic has now been replaced by a new private hospital, bringing healthcare close to the people. He is currently a trustee of PCF.

Pastor Zechariah + Rosalyn Dende Pastor Zechariah Dende and his wife, Roslyn, have been partnering with Promisedland since 2008, after attending a Transformation Seminar. They have both joined in the effort to take this message all over Nigeria, running seminars and facilitating community projects in Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Adamawa, and Bauchi States. They have also translated Promisedland teaching materials into Yoruba and Hausa languages, for the benefit of those who cannot read English. Their home community of Opeji continues to experience transformation— a police station got built; the abandoned secondary school is in process of being rebuilt; the whole community rallied around better sanitation; and, parents and teachers working together to improve their schools. The journey has not been without its challenges, and Pastor Dende testifies that God has continued to sustain him and his family. Zechariah and Rosalyn have seen tremendous growth in their own ministry. Their home church, Christ Apostolic Church, Opeji, was elevated to the position of Area Headquarters and now oversee several churches.

Pastor Timothy + Abigail Olorunbunmi Pastor Timothy Olorunbunmi and his wife, Prophetess Abigail both accepted the message of transformation and immediately volunteered to take the message to other communities in Nigeria. Pastor Olorunbunmi has run seminars and supervised projects in Kwara, Oyo, Ondo, Benue, and Niger states. He and his wife went on to start prayer meetings for their community, and he has been running youth events in different communities. He continues to share the message of transformation with other pastors and leaders in the community. Today there have been visible changes in his community in Ilorin since the community prayers began. A private benefactor stepped up and graded the roads in their community, thereby easing transportation problems in the area, which led to an increase in attendance at the primary school. His home church, Jesus Victorious Soldier International continues to grow.

Yinka Taiwo
Evangelist Rachel Alao has extensive experience helping newcomers and immigrant families resettle in her home province of Manitoba, Canada. Rachel, as she is fondly called by the people she serves, has poured her time, passion and energy in seeing thousands of newcomers resettle and become successful in their new country, regardless of their race or religion. She continue to encourage women by arranging for volunteers to teach them domestic and vocational skills, through her organisation, Helping Hands Resource Centre for Immigrants.
Yinka Taiwo, a native of Nigeria, is a wife, mother, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist residing in the United State of America. She and her husband organise community prayer events and international missions focused on bringing change to Africa, through their organisation, Africa Needs U [ANU]. She also runs a youth camp in her home during the summer months.
Evangelist Alao now takes every opportunity she has when visiting Nigeria, to teach women various life skills. She also encourages them to believe in the abilities God has placed in them as mothers, sisters, and wives, and use their position to impact their community.
Mrs Taiwo partnered with Promisedland during their 2015 mission and facilitated a Youth Seminar to help the youths recognise the seasons of their life, discover their God-given talents, and have a clearer path to their future. She also spoke to children in a primary school, and inspected some of the projects in progress in the community.

Isaac Oladimeji first attended a Design Seminar in Osiele, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and was immediately inspired to “do something.” Not long after, he helped organise an art seminar and exhibition on behalf of Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu, the institution where he teaches art courses.
Sanya is the CEO of Halerny Design – a brand and design company. He was inspired to create a forum for dialogue and exchange of ideas, to help raise the standard of professionalism and create connections for future collaborations among design professionals of every field— architecture, fashion design, graphic design, photography, web design, and other design-related businesses.
In June 2015, working with his beautiful wife, Kuburat, Oladimeji organised a seminar and art exhibition with the theme of Rethinking Art Education, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, with notable artists, art educators, and administrators among the panel members. The art exhibition section of the event featured a selection of professional artists’ works from around Nigeria, including works by some college students. As the CEO of Divine Connect Art Gallery, Ijebu-Ode, Oladimeji’s vision is to make art accessible to the public and create opportunities for artists at all levels by connecting artistic talents with fortune through discovery, influencing design curriculum, and helping to improve teaching art and design in schools, a journey which he has already begun.
Sanya was able to pull together various volunteers and notable presenters together for the first DesignOga [translated: MasterDesigner], with the theme, #changebydesign, to discuss the state of design in Nigeria and make projections for the future. He also established avenues for ongoing communication among designers through various social media channels, to help participants continue to network and dicuss about design related issues. Some of the exchanges have led to business collaborations and friendships among designers.

things you can do to transform Nigeria
1. set up a prayer group
Let us confess all doubt and unbelief about what God can do concerning the situation in our nation. Let us turn to Him for help, knowing that He will do “above and beyond what we can ask or think.”
Prayer is the key that opens doors to the change that we desire to see in our communities. Set up a time to pray and target the things that need to change. Invite others to join you.
2. pray for the church
You have gifts, talents and skills that you use to earn a living — use them to mentor the youth. Be an encouragement to the next generation.
Let us pray for the church and the leaders that they will be relentless in teaching and training people to know, understand, and do the Word of God in all areas of their lives.
3. pray for faith to act Let us pray for the church to support their faith with action and always reach out to those in need with acts of kindness.
4. pray for discernment Let us pray that the church will develop discernment to identify and fight the enemy who holds people bound in ungodliness.
5. pray for increase Let us pray also for the land to bring forth its increase in crops and minerals, that the people might live in abundance.
6. pray for the leaders and government

3. provide health information The rural communities could use your help. Many new mothers need information about inexpensive nutrition, and how to maintain good health for themselves and their children. Use your nursing gift to teach them.
4. clothe the poor We all have clothes that we no longer use because they don’t fit anymore or are out of style, yet there are those who have none. Collect old clothes from your friends and family and re-distribute them to those who are in need.
5. support school sports
Let us pray that government officials and leaders will know the Lord, and be filled with wisdom to manage the resources of the nation, and diligently serve the people.
Sports are excellent stimulants for the minds of youth. It is also a means for healthy competition that can bring communities together. Soccer is our national sport, help organize matches and bring renewed vitality to your community.

Let us pray that new markets would be found for export of goods and services world-wide. Pray that the land will bring forth its increase in crops and minerals, to meet the needs of the people.
Garbage dumped in gutters are a health hazard. Choose to work in cleaner environments, arrange a weekly clean up in your area. Set a better example for the next generation.

Many communities are still drinking from the stream, which causes a lot of water borne diseases. Help to dig a well and provide clean water for others to drink.
Let us pray for opportunities for ordinary people to be able to use their gifts and abilities to earn a living and be able to contribute to society.
9. pray for god-given innovations and ideas Let us pray for the establishment of programs that will help the poor, orphans, widows, and the elderly who cannot take care of themselves. Pray for improvements in public services like health, education, water, electricity and transportation.
10. thanksgiving prayer Let us continually give thanks to God for the plans and purposes He has for his people—as individuals, as communities, and as a nation.
8. provide clinic supplies There are many villages still without medical supplies in their clinics and families have to travel for miles to get care. Donate supplies to the clinic in your community or a village.
9. provide school supplies Many schools remain without the supplies necessary to properly educate our children. Donate desks, text books, exercise books, writing tools, and even swings for playtime.
10. provide orphanage supplies Without their parents, children in orphanages already start out their lives at a disadvantage. Donate food, clothing and necessities for their care and upkeep. You will be blessed.
