PRESS RELEASE 007 COTOPAXI VOLCANO This morning government authorities alongside experts from the Geophysics Institute of the Polytechnic University carried out a flyover the Cotapaxi volcano with the aid of the Twin Otter Plane of the Ecuadorian Military; here the experts confirmed continuous but low energetic emissions of water vapor and ashes heading towards the west side of the volcano with a low altitude impact. The flyover also determined zero presence of lahars, pyroclastic flows or of glacier melting, which confirmed a normal state of the glaciers and only the presence of ashes covering the crater of the volcano. We remind you the preventive yellow alert continues which cautious the populations to be alert.
