COTOPAXI VOLCANO PRESS RELEASE 021 The Geophysics Institute reports that during yesterday afternoon and evening there was a partial overcast surrounding the Cotopaxi volcano, however, experts were still able to detect continuous emissions of gases that reached 2,000 meters above the crater, which headed towards the Northwest side of the volcano. Today, at 2:17 am, new continuous emissions of gases were registered. According to reports from the National Police slight ash falls were reported in the areas of Mulal贸, Toacazo and Pastocalle in the Province of Cotopaxi. Today the President of the Republic, Rafael Correa, will visit the parish of Mulal贸 and all the affected communities.
