In addition, internal tremors also continue to be present. From early morning hours, continuous emissions of steam and gas with small amounts of ash were also detected. The emissions reached a height of 100 meters over the crater, heading West side of the volcano. Meanwhile, ash falls or rain have not been registered in the sector. Actions Carried Out Last night, the parish directive of San Buenaventura of the canton of Latacunga in coordination with its local Government and the Secretariat of Risk Management performed a massive drill encompassing the participation of 13 neighborhoods and 200 people. During the drill residents of the community evacuated to safe zones with flash lights and portable radios. The Secretariat of Risk Management, the local autonomous and decentralized government, and the head of the parish of the canton of Latacunga also performed a drill, with the participation of 150 people, in the neighborhood of San Francisco of El Chasqui in the parish of Pastocalle. Today at five p.m. the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Telecommunications has scheduled, in coordination with the three cellular operators in the country, to perform a test to send simultaneously text messages. The aim of this test is to verify the time it will take for SMS to reach people who are in risk zones, specifically to radios in Cotopaxi, whose members participated in Tuesday’s workshop held by the National Secretariat of Communication. The test will send the following message: "We are working to keep you informed, this is just a test message www.volcancotopaxi.com".
