COTOPAXI VOLCANO PRESS RELEASE 105 According to the report submitted by the Geophysics Institute of the Polytechnic University the Ministry of Security Coordination informs that in the last 12 hours the internal activity of the Cotopaxi was moderate while the external was low. During the night and through a thermic camera emissions headed westward were observed. This morning the volcano was overcast and no observations were able to be made. The seismic activity remains similar to past days. Movements of fluids (gases) and magma have been registered in the interior of the volcano. No rain or ash falls have been registered. Recommendations As a citizen you are also accountable in the prevention plans against an eventual increase of volcanic activity. Also remember if you observe any changes in the volcano, it is important to communicate that to authorities, which will be able to answer any queries promptly. Do not spread rumors.
