COTOPAXI VOLCANO PRESS RELEASE 123 The Geophysics Institute of the Polytechnic University informs that in the last 12 hours the Cotopaxi volcano maintained a moderate level of internal and external activity. No observations were made due to the weather conditions. Moderate rainfalls in the flanks of the volcano were registered without producing any lahars. Episodes of tremors continued during the last 13 hours. Two episodes of tremors occurred during this period: the first began at 5 p.m. and concluded at midnight, the second began at 4 a.m. and continued until the redaction of this report 06:50. Recommendation If after being exposed to ash fall you do not feel well, we recommend you visit a health center near you. Do not forget to remove ash from your roof, constantly sweep and store the ash in plastic bags. Do not use water to clean up ash.
