COTOPAXI VOLCANO PRESS RELEASE 125 Based on the last report by the Geophysics Institute of the Polytechnic University, the Ministry of Security Coordination, informs that during the last 12 hours the Cotopaxi volcano maintained a moderate level of internal and external activity. From yesterday evening onwards the volcano remained overcast. In the morning an emission of gas with moderate ash content was observed. This emission reached 300 meters over the crater and headed westward. During the night rain falls were registered on the flanks of the volcano, no lahars were registered. The seismic activity remained similar to past days and it was characterized by episodes of tremors. Recommendation Participate in the activities (talks, simulations, and drills) organized by the authorized institutions.
