COTOPAXI VOLCANO PRESS RELEASE 49 The Geophysics Institute of the Polytechnic University reports that the Cotopaxi volcano continues to present a high level of internal activity and a moderate level of external activity. In the last 12 hours there has been a decrease presence of tremors—which manifest externally with emissions of steam, gas, and ash. These emissions have reached less than 100 meters over the crater ad are headed westward with a low ash content. There has been no presence of rain or ash falls over the nearby areas.
