COTOPAXI VOLCANO PRESS RELEASE 59 The Geophysics Institute of the Polytechnic University reports that the Cotopaxi Volcano remains in its eruptive process with a moderate level of internal activity and a low level of external activity. In the last 12 hours seismic events have been registered denoted by a slight signal of tremors, which are associated with emissions of gas with a low load of ash reaching 100 meters over the crater and heading Southwest and West side of the volcano. No rain or ash falls have been reported. Recommendations Due to the ash falls we advise you to take safety measures for your animals. If you have pets do not let them go outside and protect their water to avoid digestive problems. The yellow alert continues to be in place.
