September 2020 To whom it may concern Testimonial / reference for Seim YATI Seim has recently graduated from our BA(Hons) Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 1) course. During her three years of study, I had regular involvement with the assessment of her work in various modules. Her work was always of a high standard and very well presented. Whilst I did not tutor her directly, in that I was never her design tutor or dissertation tutor, I regularly discussed her studies and interacted with Seim in numerous settings. Seim was an excellent student. Her commitment was all the more impressive because of juggling her studies alongside part-time working and her significant, and much valued, contributions to the Leicester School of Architecture Open Days and other extra-curricular activities. Over the past three years Seim has been a, possibly THE most, significant contributor to our School Open Days. Each time I led Open Day presentations it was always a delight to know that Seim was one of the Student Ambassadors. Indeed she became the most reliable, skilled and valued contributor, regularly taking on a project management role on the day, organising interview schedules, guiding and instructing other Student Ambassadors, leading tours of facilities and generally being a huge asset. Her attitude to Open Days reflected the attitude she applied to her studies, but also appeared to apply to all aspects of her life. She is professional and organised, but also cheerful, optimistic and an excellent team player. I know that Seim is hugely disappointed in her final degree classification. In the circumstances, with COVID-19 lockdown, I can only sympathise, particularly as her final grade was as close to a 2.1 as is possible. I have reassured her that any employer worth their salt, or any higher education institute of repute, will look beyond a grading that is not a true reflection of her intellectual abilities, design & skills understanding and exceptional attitude. I cannot recommend Seim too highly. She will thrive in further post-graduate study and be an asset to any employer.
