OUR FURNITURE MAKERS ARE AMONG THE MOST SKILLED AND PASSIONATE PEOPLE IN THE BUSINESS. AT OUR NORTH AMERICAN WORKSHOPS, THEY CRAFT ABOUT 75% OF OUR PRODUCTS, MANAGING THE PROJECT FROM FOREST TO FINISH.
Much of our wood furniture begins with logs we source from Appalachian forests. Our craftspeople select and mill most logs themselves, drying the wood in our own kilns. From there, they shape and assemble each piece, then sand, distress, and finish your furniture by hand.
In our upholstery workshops, your furniture is tailored by hand using fabrics and leathers that meet our stringent requirements for quality. Our artisans add the details you choose, from contrast welting to nailhead trim.
It takes time to craft something valuable—no fast furniture here—and for almost a century, the results have been worth the wait.

A recent walk-in client approached Renee Parenteau of the Southlake, Texas, Design Center with a vision: a comfortable, entertaining-ready home inspired by colorful artwork they’d collected.

Renee kept the overall color scheme tranquil, bringing in statement lighting and pops of color: navy and bright green in the living room, splashes of plum in the bedroom. She also selectively introduced patterns, like the tight geometric print on the dining room’s Clinton bench, and in the custom pillows on the bed. “Color, contrast, and scale are always a consideration when I combine different patterns.”
For the bedroom, she turned to one of her favorite pieces: the Colton bed, which she had hand-tailored with a modern pattern tuft.
“I love the Colton bed because it is so versatile and coordinates with every interior style,” she notes. “My must-haves in any design are balance, proportions, and continuity.”
