BEYONDCUISINE IS AN INNOVATIVE AND ENGAGING LOOKBOOK EVENT UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF A WORLD-RENOWNED BLACK FEMALE CHEF. THE FORMAT OF BEYOND CUISINE IS A CULINARY SAFARI, OFFERING A UNIQUE AND EXCITING WAY FOR PARTICIPANTS TO SHOWCASE THEIR TALENTS AND SHARE THEIR PASSION FOR FOOD WITH THE WORLD.
IN THIS CULINARY SAFARI, EACH PARTICIPATING CHEF WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT HERSELF IN A SHORT VIDEO, PROVIDING A BRIEF INTRODUCTION AND SHARING HER JOURNEY AS A CHEF. THE VIDEO WILL ALSO HIGHLIGHT THE CHEF'S FAVORITE DISHES, SHOWCASING HER CULINARY SKILLS AND CREATIVITY IN A 3-4 COURSE MENU, COMPLETE WITH RECIPES.
THIS FORMAT NOT ONLY ALLOWS PARTICIPANTS TO EXPRESS THEIR INDIVIDUALITY AND CULINARY FLAIR BUT ALSO CREATES A PLATFORM FOR THEM TO INSPIRE AND CONNECT WITH FELLOW CHEFS, INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, AND FOOD ENTHUSIASTS. THROUGH
THE RAISON D'ÊTRE OF "BEYONDCUISINE"
FOR BLACK FEMALE CHEFS IN RELATION TO THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS LIES IN PROMOTING GENDER EQUALITY (GOAL 5) AND REDUCING INEQUALITIES WITHIN THE CULINARY INDUSTRY IN THE SHORT TERM. THE INITIATIVE AIMS TO CREATE IMMEDIATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR BLACK WOMEN CHEFS TO SHOWCASE THEIR TALENTS, SHARE THEIR STORIES, AND INSPIRE FUTURE GENERATIONS.
BY PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR THESE UNDERREPRESENTED CHEFS, "BEYOND CUISINE" ADDRESSES THE SHORT-TERM NEED TO RAISE AWARENESS AND FOSTER AN ENVIRONMENT THAT NURTURES THEIR GROWTH AND SUCCESS. THIS INITIATIVE HELPS BREAK DOWN BARRIERS, CREATING A MORE INCLUSIVE AND DIVERSE INDUSTRY WHERE BLACK FEMALE CHEFS CAN THRIVE.
MOREOVER, THE COLLABORATION WITH PARTNER HOTEL SCHOOLS AND CULINARY ASSOCIATIONS UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF THE SIRIUS ACADEMY AWARD CAMPAIGN ENSURES ACCESS TO EDUCATION, INTERNSHIPS, AND PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR HONOREES IN MEMBER HOTELS AFTER GRADUATION. Participating Cheffes in the BeyondCuisine event

• Personal Introduction: You'll have the opportunity to introduce yourself to a global audience through a short video presentation, allowing you to share your culinary journey, inspirations, and aspirations.
• Showcase Your Signature Dishes: You'll present a 4course menu featuring your signature dishes. This will include high-resolution photos and detailed recipes, allowing the audience to appreciate your culinary artistry and maybe even try recreating these dishes at home.
• Networking Opportunities: The event is a great platform to connect and network with like-minded peers, culinary experts, and industry leaders from around the world. This is your chance to build meaningful relationships, learn from others, and potentially collaborate in future.
• Joint Creation of a final Menu of Culinary Excellence: All participating chefs will collaboratively create a culinary menu of excellence. This unique project will showcase the collective talent and creativity of our participants, further promoting the diversity of our culinary landscape.
