Inspired by the binary star, our award concept represents the sculptural, dynamic an metaphysical nature of brilliance itself.

According to NASA, the Sirius star is slowly moving closer to Earth and will gradually increase in brightness over the next 60,000 years.

Similarly, our Sirius award recipients will continue to bring much light to this world through their relentless dedication and commitment to excellence.

Our two-piece, 3D printed award showcases the balance between our inner and outer journey.

It all started just about a year ago with an idea we discussed at a meeting with the wonderful ladies of the HoteliersGuild LeadingHôtelières chapter. And I admit that not in my wildest dreams did I expect how quickly this vision became reality.

Today we have in fact two splendid reasons to celebrate. Most importantly that, already in the first year, we were able to provide 30 Bachelor's degree programmes for the SIRIUS scholarship award campaign due to a most generous grant from our member Lindsey Ueberroth, and that we can also honour some of the most accomplished professionals in our industry by bestowing them with the SIRIUS Academy Merit Award.

We believe that our industry has the power to change the world. And our HoteliersForGood initiatives can also impact and empower young people and students around the globe. Our industry is a living laboratory of cultures.

All Academy Members share a belief in the power of our industry to transform the lives of young people around the world, and they volunteer their time to support the important work of the our private society.

Each year, a panel of Academy members selects the winners of the SIRIUS Academy Scholarship & Merit Awards, and this endorsement makes the accolades arguably the most coveted in the global hospitality industry.

We believe that improved gender equality at executive level is the key to our industry's future and we are committed to driving positive change through demonstrating academic research, building sponsorship and like-minded networks, transforming design and development strategies, and engaging communication.

True luxury has always been at the forefront of innovation. It should not depend on the desires or needs of "consumers", nor should it be limited by the traditional concept of utility and competitiveness, with the risk of stifling creativity. Our luxury leaders are pioneers, not followers. And sustainable luxury and education for all is more in demand than ever!

The SIRIUS ACADEMY AWARDS are arguably the most prestigious awards in the global hospitality industry due to their distinctive scope. The awards are bestowed by the Hoteliers Guild Academy of Hospitality Arts judging panel.

The SIRIUS ACADEMY AWARDS have evolved from the long established HoteliersGuild, the private non-profit society for international hospitality leaders with a pledge to Sustainable Luxury, Gender Equality and Access to Education for All. The overriding goal is to provide scholarships at the IU-International University of Applied Sciences for aspiring but underprivileged female students from black and ethnic minority groups. The first funding campaign has been hosted by the HoteliersGuild Academy of Hospitality Arts, curated by its Cofounder Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resort who granted a significant amount for this noble cause. And we are most grateful to the many donations received from our distinguished member hoteliers and to A Star Experience for the hosting the auction.

At this testing time, the SIRIUS ACADEMY AWARDS will be solely organized virtually through the web, without the notion of hosting a trivial ceremony, where one is required to spend a large sum on extravagant outfits and an expensive seat at the social event’s table with the profits going to the organiser.
