Healthy cows are crucial to your operation HealthMark™ uses Somatic Cell Score (SCS), Daughter Pregnancy Rate (DPR) and Productive Life (PL) which includes DNA gene-marker technology to produce long-lived, healthy cows. ™
Based on extensive research of 1,000 sires with high reliability Productive Life (PL) values, Select Sires has identified the combination of type traits that are predictive of productive life and have formulated an index which appropriately weights those traits. On average, Herdlife Builders™ out-perform active A.I. sires for Productive Life and Udder Composite (UDC) while offering moderate stature. When primary selection traits between bulls are equal, looking at fertility measures as a secondary criterion may help gain a percentage or two in conception rate.
